Attendance Matters
It is important that you come to school daily: MVC Bus riders must check in and ride the bus!
School attendance is extremely important every day. ECHS scholars are working to earn a high school diploma and an associate's degree. Missing one college class equivalent to missing multiple days of normal school. Attendance and grade impact academic standing and success in the ECHS program. If you are an MVC student traveling to and from Dallas College, you must sign in daily and ride the bus. If you do not sign in, you will be marked absent. Sign-in QR Codes are accessible at the bus loop. Doctors' notes can be turned in to the Attendance Office or Ms. Sotero in the Early College Office. In addition, if you know your student will be absent, you can e-mail Ms. Sotero at melinda.sotero@gpisd.org or call our office at 972-343-6380. Doctor's notes must be turned in within three days.
FALL TSI Testing
Fall TSI Testing is right around the corner! TSI testing will start at the end of September and go through October, additional details are forthcoming. It is important to be in attendance daily.

Ms. Ekwenugo
Hello! I am Eugenia Ekwenugo. This is my second year at GP. I am a graduate from UNT with my Master’s in Education. I love everything reading and writing. I love all types of books, but lately I’ve really been
into graphic novels and comic books. I somehow picked up a habit of collecting comic books from my brother. My goal is to show students that reading and writing isn’t one size fits all. There’s something out there for everyone. MY FAVORITE QUOTE: “If there’s a book you really want to read but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.” - Toni Morrison
Mrs. Kumar
Hello! My name is Sushma Kumar. I teach different chemistry courses at ECHS, GPHS. I am very excited to get to know you all and your unique personalities. I am looking forward to meeting you all in our classroom. I have many interesting units and activities planned this year. It will be a lot of hard work but also a lot of fun!
About me: I grew up in India (land of vibrant colors) and graduated from CCS University, Kanpur, India. I moved to USA in 2012 for higher studies and earned my 2nd master’s degree in chemistry from California State University, Los Angeles. I am married and live here with my family. I have a pet and his name Oreo-a Shih-Tzu breed.
Experience: I have 8 years of teaching experience in science/chemistry, from different schools and colleges. This is my 4th year of teaching Advanced chemistry, Scientific research and design and Introductory chemistry in ECHS.

Hello! My name is Shauna Love. This is my 13th year of teaching and my 7th year of being a part of the Early College High School. I love math and find it fun. I am also trying to change attitudes about math. Really, it’s all simply problem solving, and that is a skill we use repeatedly every day. As for me, I have two grown sons and two grandbabies – with another one on the way! I love spending time with my family. I am a huge Star Wars fan, and I collect red and black ladybug things. I’m excited about this year and ready to get started!
