Mt. View Elementary School
Weekly Information
3/18 - 3/22
Hello Mt. View Families,
I hope your week is off to a great start! I have some information to share about the upcoming week.
- Conference Week starts tomorrow. Tuesday through Friday, we will be dismissing students at 12:30 PM. If you have not signed up for a conference, let us know how we can help get you signed up. Conferences are a great opportunity to celebrate the progress your student has made and talk about goals for next year.
- Thank you for your support with our most recent fundraiser. It was a huge success.
- We have started our 3rd trimester and teachers are working on getting prepared for conferences and report cards. Report cards are set to go home on Thursday, March 28th.
- Spring Break is coming up. There will be no school April 1st through April 5th.
Tips for Parents/Families heading into Spring Conferences
Parent-teacher conferences provide a valuable opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher and gain insight into your child's academic, social, and emotional progress. Here are some potential helpful tips for parents/family members to make the most of these conferences:
- Review Schoolwork: Take a look at your child’s schoolwork. Consider whether their work and progress seem appropriate or if your child needs additional support.
- Talk with Your Child: Discuss how school is going with your child. Ask about their experiences, what they enjoy, and any concerns they might have.
- Make a List of Questions: Write down any questions or concerns you’d like to discuss during the conference. Start by asking the most important questions first. Cover topics related to your child’s academic progress, behavior, and any specific needs.
- Remember that you and the teacher are working together to support your child. Ask questions about how you can support from home and how we can support you in those efforts.
- Next Steps. Use the last few minutes of the conference to discuss action steps. What strategies can be implemented to support your child’s learning and development moving forward (for the rest of this year and beyond)?
Parent-teacher conferences are a collaborative effort. We are all in this together and we all want to help your child succeed.
Have a great week!
