Principal's Message
Dear Bulldog Families-
Welcome Back!! I hope your students have come home excited to get this second semester started. Thank you for having conversations with your student(s) about dress code, electronic devices and tardies; thus far, students have been going above and beyond to support school and district policy.
Weekly Highlights:
- We started our first day back from Winter Break with a SNOW DAY!!!
- Most students have been respectful and kind by following school and district policies without constant reminders.
- Boys' basketball tryouts were this week. We can't wait to see who makes the teams that represent our school this season!!
Upcoming Events:
- Vaccination Clinic will be at Galileo Middle School on Wednesday, January 22nd. See flyer below and reach out to Ms. Shirley Moorhead with questions.
- 5th Grade Open House is on Thursday, January 23rd from 5p-7p. We can't wait to meet our future Bulldogs!
- Skate City Fundraiser is Monday, January 27th. Please see details below.
Reminders:
- If your student never received a Yondr pouch, please reach out to your student's advisory teacher.
I hope you have had a wonderful first week back to school. I enjoyed seeing all of our students back in the building and hearing about their time off. Please reach out to me if you need anything. As always, thank you for your continued support and partnership.
With gratitude,
Julia Scott

Funds raised will be used to support our Big Rock: Positive School Culture: Student and Family Engagement through PBIS rewards for student attendance, behavior and/or other family events, etc.
Banners were hung up around Galileo Middle School today and flyers were passed out to all Bulldogs during afternoon advisory. If you have questions, please call our front office at 719-328-2200. We hope to see you all there!

Message from Nurse Kayla Garcia
How Sick is Too Sick?
I have received a notice from the health department about an increasing number of norovirus cases. For those of you who have not experienced norovirus, it is a nasty bug. The number one way to protect yourself from illness is to WASH YOUR HANDS with soap and water. Hand sanitizer is NOT effective against norovirus.
Generally, fever, vomiting, and diarrhea are criteria to stay home/be sent home. Students that experience any of these symptoms should be kept at home until after 24 hours symptom free. Please see attached PDF from the Colorado Department of Health and Environment that goes into more detail. Contact our nurse, Kayla Garcia for further information at kayla.garcia@d11.org.
