It was great seeing so many of you at last Saturday’s Trunk or Treat! The costumes and energy were fantastic—what a fun celebration!

It’s hard to believe how fast this year is flying by. Our middle school students are wrapping up the first quarter, and our elementary students are nearing the end of the first trimester. As we head into this busy time, please remember to check the calendar for important upcoming dates. Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for this coming Monday, November 4, and school will be closed on Tuesday, November 5 for Election Day.

Wishing you a wonderful evening of trick-or-treating! The costumes and student excitement around the schools today were a joy to see. A big thank you to our parents for supporting our students and teachers and helping foster such positive energy in our learning community.

We are proud to report that all District 25 schools received commendable or exemplary designations.

This school year, our Food & Nutrition Services Department introduced a new menu platform for viewing our menu. Visit myschoolmenus.com or download the app using the QR codes to have menu, nutrition and ingredient information at your fingertips.

Link Together Coalition Mission: Promote healthy youth, families, and communities by decreasing teen alcohol and drug use through education, advocacy, and access to community resources, and policy awareness, implementation, and change.

Working with D25: South and Thomas middle schools are provided with prevention initiatives that are targeted at youth to empower them to be drug and alcohol free.

Please check out the various Glenbard Parent Series presentations that work to engage top experts, parents, and school staff to become proactive and informed in pursuit of the mutual goal of strengthening our communities. It’s been a little over a month with students in our new #Build25 spaces so we figured we’d look back at the ribbon cutting ✂️ events we had for each space! You could see the excitement on their faces as the students saw their new spaces! 🤩 🤗

The District's #Build25 project held a ribbon cutting ceremony at all six schools that underwent expansion projects last week. Each community came out to support the project openings in bunches! Thank you to the representatives of the Village, Park District, local government, and our Board of Education for coming out to support the project openings! On Monday October 21st, the Thomas 🐺🐺 Cross Country Team celebrated their back to back Cross-Country IESA State Championship. 🏆🥇

The team arrived Monday morning ☀️with a police escort 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️and were greeted with an all-school assembly where they were recognized for their hard work and dedication. 💪💪

Standout runner, Adelaide Galla, took first place in state🥇 with a time of 11.56.1 in the 2 miler and was given a standing ovation by her peers. 👏👏

Our students experience many cultures every single day in our schools.🏫 For example, Patton and Ivy hosted special assemblies this past week to engage our students in cultural experiences. 📕📚

Ivy 🦅🦅 hosted an assembly by Ronnie Preston and Lisa Bernal, both Native Americans, to celebrate Native American Heritage Month. They shared their experiences, culture, storytelling, and music with our students. The kids learned so much and had a fantastic time!😃😃

Patton 🐆🐆hosted an assembly about what Diwali is. Students learned about the history of Diwali, how to celebrate, and were even taught how to dance. The kids enjoyed learning while also moving around and dancing. 💃📝📝

Anyone who wishes to make a public comment can do so, in-person, at our Board of Education meetings. The Board hosts two public comment opportunities on their agenda: 1) at the beginning of the meeting, prior to any agenda items, 2) at the end of the meeting after the agenda items have been discussed/presented.

The meeting will begin at 6:15 p.m. at which time the Board will move into Closed Session until approximately 7:00 p.m. Following Closed session, the Regular Open meeting will begin.

This meeting will be held at the Dunton Administration Building and will be livestreamed via YouTube. The link for this can be found on the Board Agenda page (www.sd25.org/BoardAgenda#Livestream) the week of the meeting.

This meeting will allow audience members in the room. Please note each individual agenda can be viewed on our BoardDocs program.
