Wishing You a Wonderful Summer!
Dear CCPS Families,
As we approach the end of another school year, I want to extend my warmest wishes for a fantastic summer ahead and thank you for your unwavering support throughout the school year. Your partnership, dedication, and involvement have not only made a difference but have been the very foundation of the success of our students and our educational community.
Reflecting on the past year, I am filled with pride and gratitude for all that we, as a united educational community, have accomplished together. Despite the challenges and uncertainties, we have stood firm, remained resilient, and adapted to the changing circumstances. Our shared commitment to providing our students with the best possible learning experiences has been a testament to our collective strength and dedication.
On behalf of the entire school district, I extend my sincerest thanks to our dedicated educators, staff, administrators, and volunteers for their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to excellence. Your passion for education and love for our students are truly inspiring, and I am deeply grateful for all you do.
To our students, I encourage you to make the most of your summer break by embracing new experiences, pursuing your passions, and creating cherished memories with family and friends. Remember to stay curious and never stop learning.
As we close another memorable school year, let us continue to inspire, empower, and uplift one another.
Enjoy your summer!
Sincerely,
Jeffrey A. Lawson, Ed.D.

Maryland Corps/Service Year Option Program
Applications are open for the Maryland Corps and the Service Year Option Program, two streams of service created by Governor Wes Moore’s administration as part of its commitment to public service.
The programs were launched last year when the state’s newly created Department of Service and Civic Innovation piloted the service pathway to education and career opportunities for community members who either recently completed high school or are looking for a career change.
Members, who must be 18 or older, are required to serve full-time at a sponsoring organization and participate in targeted professional development. The program requires a minimum 40 hours per week time commitment between the service at the host site partner and the required professional development.
Participants in the program will be matched with a partner organization that will provide job training, mentorship and other resources. Additionally, participants will earn at least $15 an hour and receive weekly focused professional development.
Recent CCPS graduates can apply online at https://serving.md.gov/auth/signup?role=CANDIDATE. The deadline to apply for the program is Sept. 11.
