STATE BOUND - NORDIC SKI
Congrats to Coach O'Neill and the Girls Nordic ski team that took 2nd to qualify for State while the Boys team took 3rd with Owen Kalmes qualifying for state. Results included: Linnea Ousdigian (repeated as Girls’ pursuit section champion), Margot Derosier (8), Bria Mills (10), Emma Stupar (21), Noelle Boyd (27), and the 4th relay team Claire Secord + Maddie Dornfeld and for boys Owen Kalmes (6), Jackson Ashbach (12), Ian Gamson (22), Niko Mares (23), Riley Fields (28), and the 5th relay team Olen Hammerbeck + Hunter Miller.
NEWS
BOYS SWIM & DIVE: The Boys Swim & Dive team competed against a tough Irondale team and came up a little bit short. There were many strong performances including a win by the MV medley relay, Danny Bai in the 100 free and 100 back, and Micah Prindle 1st place in diving. This week the team celebrates Senior Night at the Chippewa pool against Forest Lake. Good Mustangs!
ACT PREP SESSION FOR JUNIORS: The ACT practice session today is for English with Mrs. Carney. Meet in Room 122 right after school. Sign up here: Free Strategy Sessions.
REPORT CARDS: Report cards are available in ParentVUE and StudentVUE! Students and parents can see their Semester 1 report card in ParentVUE in the Report Card tab. It is a printable pdf. Semester 1 will be available on the Course History tab by Monday (2/10).
GIRLS BASKETBALL: The Girls Basketball team plays three (3) games this week! First is tonight, Monday (2/10). Hastings comes to visit. Tip-off is at 7:00 PM on Kauls Court. Next up is another home game against White Bear Lake on Wednesday (2/12). Tip-off is at 7:00 PM on Kauls Court. Finally, they travel to Forest Lake on Friday (2/14). Tip-off is at 7:00 PM. Winter Week Hall Decorating & Captain's Parade
Captains and Clubs: If you have not signed up to decorate a hallway or participate in the captain’s parade at the Pepfest, scan the QR code posted around the school, or email Rachel Durand or Hannah Song. The last day to sign up is February 14.
Winter Wonderland Dance
Join us for our annual winter dance on Saturday (2/22) from 8-11 PM. There will be a lot of fun activities coming up for our winter spirit week, top it off with an evening of dance and fun with friends.
NEW THIS YEAR:
- MVHS Alum, Adam Higgly will be DJing (accepting song requests)
- Hot Cocoa Bar - enjoy a hot chocolate with all the toppings!
- Smaller dance floor and more seating in the commons.

IF YOUR GUEST DOES NOT ATTEND MOUNDS VIEW HIGH SCHOOL:
- MV student should purchase the ticket for their guest using the same link.
- You MUST get a "guest form" from the main office. This needs to be filled out, approved by the guest's school and returned to Lori Diekoff in the main office by Friday (2/21).
No refunds for guest tickets (non MVHS students) if the guest form is not completed and turned in by the deadline.
MUSIC 4 MV CONCERT - AUDITION SIGN UP IS OPEN
Are you looking to gain music performance experience while helping to raise money for a great cause? Proceeds from this concert will be donated to the Marit Swenson Shining Light Foundation and MN NAMI. All musicians are welcome, regardless of experience level! ULTIMATE FRISBEE
Registration is open for the Mounds View Ultimate Frisbee spring season. Open to all students in grades 9 to 12. Mounds View offers both girls and boys teams. Experienced athletes looking for cross training and new players are all welcome. Spring season practices begin in early March. Register by Thursday (2/20).
NHS ART FAIR
The Mounds View NHS Art Fair Board is holding an art fair on Saturday (3/1). Everyone is encouraged to submit their own artwork by Friday (2/21). Here is the link for the google form to submit! NHS Members will get one (1) mandatory hour, per artwork submitted.

CHOIR FUNDRAISER
Calling all musicians! Do you love to perform? Mounds View Choir is hosting 'MV Mic Night' with an Old Hollywood theme on Friday (2/21) at Peace United Methodist Church.
It's a beautiful and fun evening of music in order to raise money for MV Choirs! You can sing, play an instrument, and even perform with a friend! All musicians are welcome - you do not need to be in choir to participate!

SPRING SPORTS REGISTRATION
The registration portal opens Monday (2/24). Spring sports first day of tryouts/practice are as follows:
- March 10: softball, boys track & field, girls track & field
- March 17: boys golf, girls golf, baseball, boys volleyball
- March 24: boys tennis
- March 31: boys lacrosse, girls lacrosse

Your child must have a valid sports physical on file prior to registering. Physicals are valid for three (3) years from the date of the exam. IF your child's physical expires during the season, you won't be able to register. Parents can check the current status of their child’s physical through their ParentVUE account by selecting the Student Info tab. The physical date is located at the bottom of the page.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Mounds View Irondale Hockey Foundation (www.mvihf.org) is offering $1000 scholarships for graduating seniors for past and current participants of the Mounds View Irondale Youth Hockey Association (MVIYHA) program attending Irondale, Mounds View, or St. Anthony High Schools. This scholarship will support a student’s post-secondary education in the form of tuition payment. For consideration, submit an essay explaining how you were impacted by playing youth hockey with the MVIYHA.
Scholarship recipient(s) will be selected by board members of the Foundation based on their submitted essay. Applications are due Saturday (3/8) by 8:00 AM to scholarship@mvihf.org, include subject line “MVIHF scholarship” for email.
