Welcome Back to School!
JCHS would like to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year! Please remember we are here to help you and your family locate the resources needed for success. Through our bi-monthly newsletters, we will seek to share practical tips, information, and links to help you to better support your family's growth. Invitations to parent sessions and family engagement opportunities will also be publicized here.
As you scroll through this edition of our newsletter, you will find resources to help you navigate the school system, including accessing Infinite Campus to monitor your child's progress, signing up for Infinite Campus and accessing your school's Parent Resource Center, and much more! Infinite Campus
Infinite Campus is a Student Information System used to collect, store and manage all data related to students in the Jasper County Charter System in grades 3-12. School office staff use Campus to create student schedules, monitor attendance and behavior, and organize student and family data. Teachers use Campus to create assignments, record grades and enter attendance. District staff uses the data in Campus to effectively serve students and communicate with our stockholders.
With the Campus Parent Portal parents can stay up to date on grades, assignments, attendance and much more. To set up a parent portal, please contact Ms. Becky Miller at JCHS.

JCHS Picture day has been rescheduled from September 17th to October 9th. Please make sure that you are dressed to impress. This picture day will be yearbook photos.

Students who are Seniors will have the opportunity to focus on completing at least one application for admission or applying for a career opportunity, while receiving the encouragement and assistance of JCHS staff and volunteers.

When: Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 9-10:30
Where: Piedmont Academy (Transportation will be provided by JCHS)
Who: Juniors & Seniors ONLY
36 colleges will be present at the exhibit! (see link below for additional details)
Students can pick up a permission form in the JCHS Counseling Office.
SAT and ACT Information
JCHS is a host school for the SAT, check available dates for the four sessions offered. If you are interested in signing up for the ACT or the SAT please see your counselor. SAT prep course offered at JCHS in January is highly encouraged prior to taking and signing up for the SAT.
ACT Pratice Test and Resources
PSAT
We are excited to announce that Jasper County High School will be offering the PSAT on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. All 10th-grade students will automatically participate in this important assessment as part of their academic journey. For students in other grades who are interested in taking the PSAT, please contact Ms. Fowler or your counselor to sign up. The cost for students not enrolled in the 10th grade is $15. Don't miss this opportunity to prepare for future college admissions exams and to potentially qualify for scholarships! Check out the resources HERE!
ASVAB
Attention students! Jasper County High School will be administering the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. The ASVAB is a valuable career exploration tool that helps students identify their strengths and potential career paths, whether you're considering a future in the military or just exploring your options. All interested students are encouraged to sign up in the counseling office. This is a great opportunity to gain insights into your skills and interests, so don’t miss out!

FASFA Night
Mark your calendars! Jasper County High School will be hosting FAFSA Night on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 3:00 to 6:30 PM. This event is a fantastic opportunity for seniors and their families to get expert assistance with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Financial aid representatives will be on hand to answer questions and guide you through the application process. Don’t miss this chance to maximize your financial aid opportunities for college. Be sure to bring your necessary documents, and we look forward to seeing you there!
Senior Updates
Senior Pictures CADY
If you have not already scheduled your senior pictures through CADY (the school
photography company), please go to cady.com/schedule to set up your senior pictures.
You do NOT have to buy any pictures but you will have to pay the sitting fee. These are
the only pictures that will be in the senior section of the yearbook and on the class
composite picture outside the JCHS office. If you have trouble with the website, you can
call CADY directly at 678-722-3449.
Herff Jones
Herff Jones will be on campus Monday, Sept. 16th, at 8:10 am-Seniors to meet with seniors about
ordering a cap and gown, invitations, and other senior items. JCVA students should also
plan to be on campus for the meeting if possible. If you are absent that day or can't be in
the meeting, Mrs. Scroggs will have senior packets from Herff Jones in her classroom.
Juniors will meet on September 16th at 9:00 am to receive class ring information.
Homecoming
The Homecoming Game is Sept. 20 and the Homecoming Dance will be Sept. 21 7-10
p.m. Tickets will be $10 per person. Be listening to the announcements for more
information about homecoming activities. Senior class officers should plan to help set up for the Homecoming Dance.Miss Hurricane is nominated by clubs and sports teams and voted on by the Student Council. The Homecoming Court is voted on by grade-level elections. The Homecoming
Queen is voted on by the entire student body.

Monday- Senior Information Night @ 5pm
Tuesday- Student night at the softball game (Students get in free) @ 5:30 pm
Wednesday- Teacher vs Student Volleyball game (during school day)
Thursday- Homecoming Parade @ 6pm on the square and powder puff game to follow at JCHS
Friday- Pep rally and football game at 7:30! Go Canes!
Saturday- Homecoming Dance 7-10 pm
