Fall Break [NO SCHOOL] - November 25 - 29
We hope you are able to take time to relax, recharge, and reflect on all the things we're thankful for. Enjoy this special time with family and friends, and remember to take care of yourselves. We’ll see you back soon!
UTK-5 Blacktop Assembly December 2nd
We will have our first blacktop assembly with UTK students on Monday, December 2nd at 7:40 am.
All students should line up on the blacktop at arrival for important updates and information.
Parents are welcome! We just ask that parents stand around the perimeter of the class lines to ensure students can see/hear the information best.
Scholastic Book Fair
Book Fair is open December 2nd through the 7th in our Doyle Library. Details and family shopping hours are posted at doylepta.org
Help make this a successful event for students and families. Without volunteers, book fair WILL NOT be open certain days! This means less shopping time for classes during the school day and less/no family shopping time!
Teachers of parent volunteers will receive $100 Dolphin Dollars to contribute towards a classroom treat/celebration at the end of the year (one per event)!

Safety in the Traffic Circle
We love seeing parents and students bike to school! It's a great way to decrease our carbon footprint, encourage physical activity, and get your day started!
We would like to remind all parents and students who bike to/from school the importance of following the flow of traffic for their safety and the safety of those around them. Bicycles should not be riding against the flow of traffic, this creates significant safety risks and creates additional traffic.
Thank you!
Independent Study Contracts
This is an official contract that requires parent, student, and teacher signatures, and provides the opportunity for your student to complete work and earn attendance credit upon return.
Please keep in mind that this is optional for teachers. When teachers agree to an Independent Study Contract, they take extra time out of their planning and personal days to create a packet of work for your student to complete while out of school. If your student does not complete the required work, a certain number of days can and will be marked "unexcused".
We are not able to accommodate Independent Study Contracts beyond 14 days.
Reporting Absences
If your student is going to be absent, please inform the front office using one of the below methods:
- Doyle Elementary Attendance Reporting form : this can be found on our school website - just scroll down on the homepage and click "Report an Absence"
- Call the front office at 619-605-4500 and select Option 2 for Ms. Venus in Attendance.
