A Note from Principal Bame
Dear AMS Families,
As we approach the final week of the school year, we want to ensure that every student has a productive and memorable conclusion to the academic year. Please take a moment to review the latest updates and reminders to help ensure a successful last week of school.
Celebrating Our Retirees
At the close of this school year, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to four members of our Apex Middle School family who are retiring:
- Mrs. Lucy Bailey (AST/BST Teacher)
- Mrs. Tonja Dewar (6th Grade Science)
- Mr. Wang Fong (Special Education Instructional Assistant)
- Mrs. Mary Alice Fox (Business Education)
We are thankful for the lasting impact each of them has made on our school community. Their dedication, care, and service will be missed. Once a Cougar, always a Cougar — we wish them all the best in retirement!

Grade Level Updates
6th Grade Reminders
As we wrap up the school year, we want to take a moment to thank you for your partnership and support throughout your child’s journey. It has been a joy to watch our newest Cougars grow—not just academically, but also socially and emotionally—as they’ve navigated the exciting (and sometimes challenging) world of middle school.
This year was a time of big transitions: new routines, greater independence, and increased responsibility. Your children have risen to the challenge in so many ways, showing resilience, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. Whether it was mastering new concepts, stepping out of their comfort zone, or learning how to manage their time and work habits, the growth has been remarkable.
As we look ahead to the next school year, we encourage you to take time over the summer to rest, recharge, and celebrate your student’s accomplishments. The transition into the next grade level brings new opportunities and challenges, and we have no doubt that our Cougars will continue to thrive.
Thank you again for trusting us to be part of your child’s educational journey. We’re proud of all they’ve accomplished this year, and are excited to see where their path leads next.
Wishing you a restful and joyful summer!
Warmly,
Your 6th Grade Teachers

A Message from the 7th Grade Teachers
As we head into our final week of school, we’re looking forward to celebrating this group of 7th graders! It’s been a great year full of academic growth, social development, emotional maturity, and even several inches of physical growth for many!
From the daily routines of tests and quizzes to engaging classroom activities and exciting grade level challenges like Capture the Pig and Find Mrs. Faircloth, these students have worked hard and had fun doing it. They've built study and organizational skills, learned to advocate for themselves, kept up with their grades, and begun learning to balance academic responsibilities with their social lives.
We’re so proud of all they’ve accomplished and look forward to seeing them take these lessons with them into 8th grade and beyond. Thank you for your support and for trusting us with your kids this year. Here’s to a great final week!
Sincerely,
The 7th Grade Team
Book Return: Please check under seats, in closets, under beds, and other places that books tend to be for any class novels or library books. These need to be returned to school as soon as possible. Donations of these books are also greatly appreciated.
As we wrap up the school year, we want to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your support, encouragement, and partnership throughout this journey. It’s hard to believe the year is already coming to a close!
We are incredibly proud of our 8th grade students. They have grown so much—academically, socially, and emotionally—and they’ve truly earned their place as rising high schoolers. From persevering through challenging lessons to building friendships and leading with maturity, they’ve shown us just how ready they are for what comes next.
As we enter this final week of middle school, we’re excited to celebrate all their hard work and accomplishments. Here’s a look at the fun and meaningful events we have planned.
Friday 6/6 (7-9) : Rescheduled 8th Grade Dance – Let’s end the year with a night to remember!
Tuesday 6/10 : Field Day – A chance to let loose, compete, and enjoy some friendly outdoor fun.
Thursday 6/12 : Class Picnic – A time to relax, share memories, and enjoy lunch together as a class.
Friday 6/13 : 8th Grade Commencement Ceremony – A special moment to honor this important milestone.
Thank you for trusting us with your children this year. It has been an honor to teach, guide, and grow with them. We’ll miss them dearly—but we know they’re more than ready for high school and beyond.
