Message from the Principal
Hello Flyer Nation!!
Happy Holiday Season!
At Fernbrook these last 5+ years, the trending theme remains….growth! New homes, townhomes, and apartments going up….oh my. To that end, I am very glad (selfishly for Fernbrook) for the passing of the bond referendum. We will stay large and in charge for the next 2 years, and then in Fall of 2026 a new school will open that some portion of our attendance area will move to…nope, I don’t know which portions 😊
Fernbrook staff continue to be dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment where students are learning at high levels and have the necessary support both academically and socially. At Fernbrook, our Flyers SOAR(Show self control, Own their actions, Aim for success, and respect self, others, and property). We recognize and celebrate each student for who they are, and together we will drive towards our individual and collective hopes and dreams.
With the first third of the year under our belt, here are my most frequent reminders to our Flyers. 1) You CAN do hard things, 2) SOARing shouldn’t just happen when an adult is looking, it should happen all the time, and 3) it’s all about growing as a reader, writer, mathematician, and a good human. Thank you to our community for supporting all of those!!
FERNBROOK ROCKS!!
Sincerely,
Jeff Zastrow (Mr. Z)
Principal, Fernbrook Elementary

Lost and Found
We have a large amount of items in our lost and found. Everything from jackets to boots-even a lonely tennis shoe. If your student is missing anything come check out our lost and found. Your items miss you!
Recess-Winter Gear ❄️
With the arrival of winter weather, please make sure your student is dressed appropriately to be outside for 30 minutes. Most days this will include boots, snow pants, winter coats, hats and mittens/gloves. Please mark all winter clothing items with the student's name. ALL students will go outside for recess unless they have a note from their physician stating the reason they need to stay inside and the duration of this limitation.
