Highlights from our event-FULL week
Rumney Reads Day
Students participated in Rumney Reads Day which was filled with inspirational reading activities. They attended a presentation with Autumn, from the Kellogg Hubbard Library, and learned about what is happening at the library this summer. Author and illustrator Dan Abdo came to visit our school and talk to the students about his work, inspirations and how he got started. Each students received a signed hardcopy of the book titled Barb, by Dan & Jason, thanks to a generous community donation to our library. Thank you Ms.Aly for putting this wonderful event together!
End of year celebrations
Our pre-KIndergarten class celebrated their last day of school. Thank you to Michelle, Tanna, and Tammy for arranging a sweet gathering for the students and their families. I was so thankful to be able to join and play Legos with the four year old children. Also, Tanna's lemon bread was truly amazing!
Kindergarten held their annual celebration of learning. Veronica distributed "teachers choice awards" to each child. Thank you for always knowing your students so well and going above and beyond to provide opportunities for them to learn and have fun.
Class Plays
Our first and second graders did an amazing job at their plays. They were able to project their voice and speak clearly, even under the pressure of being on stage. Thank you to Christine and Ben for keeping this memorable tradition going for so many years.
Field Trips
Third and fourth graders had a great field trip to the Shelburne Museum on Monday. They had a wonderful time looking at the Ticonderoga, the black smith shop, and the General Store. Students came back talking about all of their adventures and learning.
Sixth grade went to Elmore on Friday. They went swimming, had a cook out, and enjoyed ice cream! They were so fortunate to have perfect weather for their special day.
Science Fair
Our fifth graders picked amazing science fair projects. They each shared how they picked their topic, their hypothesis, the procedure and materials, variables, and their conclusion. So many fun ideas and their posters looked professional and informative.
Congratulations to our 6th grade graduates!
Best,
Karoline May
