Monday, February 17th is Presidents Day! That means it's a day off for the entire school district. Tuesday, February 18th is a Teacher Professional Development Day. No school for students on Tuesday. Our offices will also be closed on President's Day to give everyone a chance to enjoy the holiday. Enjoy your long weekend and make the most of the extra days off!

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is a heartwarming play based on the novel by Kate DiCamillo. It follows the story of Edward Tulane, a proud and selfish porcelain rabbit who embarks on a transformative journey after being lost at sea. Through his adventures, Edward encounters various characters and experiences love, loss, and self-discovery. As he learns to care for others, Edward's emotional growth turns him into a more compassionate and humble being. The play explores themes of love, change, and the importance of connection.

EHS Debate Team Recognized at Board Meeting
Saanvi Seth, Tristin Nguyen, Nabiha Kashif, Param Thakkar, Shreyan Jena, Hayagiriv Sajja, and Alex Huang were our state semifinalists and finalists this year at the 124th annual MSHSL State Debate Tournament. They were recognized at the school board meeting for their excellence in debate at the state tournament. Also, Thank you Chris McDonald, our Director of Debate!

Food Drive Starts Wednesday, 2/19
Our annual EHS Food Drive is kicking off next week and will run from Wed. 2/19 – Fri. 2/28. All proceeds to The Open Door Food Pantry, right here in Eagan. Did you know they serve 17,000 people each month? Our PAWS classes will have a competition—winning classes earn a breakfast! Students can bring non-perishable items or monetary donations.

College Fair at Eagan High School!

You will have an opportunity to meet with representatives from over 115 area colleges/universities, community and technical colleges, professional schools and military organizations. This event is sponsored by the Minnesota Association of College Admission Counselors (MACAC). List of schools attending HERE Admission is free! Service Hours and GPA Reminder for Nat'l Honor Society Induction
TO MEET THE SERVICE REQUIREMENT, STUDENTS MUST DOCUMENT AT LEAST 24 HOURS OF SERVICE THAT ARE NOT REQUIRED BY ANOTHER ORGANIZATION FROM JUNE 2024 UNTIL THE TIME OF APPLICATION.
If you are hoping to apply for membership this April, make sure to fulfill the service hour requirement and complete your application on time.
An Induction Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025, for new inductees and returning members. Click HERE for more information.
Academic Letter Award
Students grades 9-12 who achieve a 3.666 or higher overall grade point average in 15 courses or more completed in the 2024 – 2025 school year, will receive an Academic Letter Award once all grades are final – and all post secondary grades are submitted.
These award certificates will be mailed to our students in late June, 2025.
MCA Testing Next Month and ACT/PreACT in April
The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCAs) in Reading for grade 10 students and Math for grade 11 students will be administered on Wednesday, March 19 from 7:40 - 9:40 AM.
- All grade 9 students will attend classes at 7:40 AM as usual.
- All grade 12 students will report for 3rd period classes at 9:45 AM. Assigned work for periods 1 and 2 will be posted in Schoology by teachers.
- Buses will run at the usual times.
The ACT for Grade 11 students, and PreACT for Grade 10 students will be administered on Tuesday, April 15 starting at 7:40 AM.
- Students in grades 9 and 12 will have an E Learning Day on Tuesday, April 15th.
Unified Basketball Takes State!
The EHS Unified Basketball team has won the State Championship for the fourth straight year! Congratulations to our athletes and their coaching staff!
Icettes Place 1st in Blaine Last Week!
Congratulations to the District 196 Icettes on their first competition of the season this past weekend at the Frosty Blades competition in Blaine, where they competed against 22 other teams. The team received first place honors in All Team Production and Varsity Synchronized Skating and received second place in JV Synchronized Skating. There were great performances turned in by all the Team Compulsories as well.
Good Luck to all the Icettes that will be traveling to Missouri this week to compete in the ISI Winter Classic National Competition.
Three Eagan Wrestlers Qualified for State!
We had 10 girls compete at the Section 3-4 sectional tournament last weekend in Redwood Falls. Eagan qualified girls for the state tournament for the first time.
Sophmore qualifiers, Taniah Borney and Captain Ellie Westerman placed 2nd and
Freshman Madelyn Jensen placed 1st to qualify for MNHSL State tournament on Feb 28th and March 1st at Xcel.
This is Eagans second year with a girls wrestling team and the first year we qualified wrestlers for state. These three girls are making history for Eagan.
Wildcats plan to qualify boys for the state tournament in the coming weeks.The team sections are this Friday in Hastings and their individual section tournament is on February 22nd.

Registration Open for Rugby
NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. In rugby, everybody plays, everybody carries the ball, and everybody tackles. Rugby suits all body shapes and sizes, and teaches explosiveness, decision-making, and agility.
Practice begins on Saturday, March 1st with our free TRY RUGBY event, from 1-2PM followed by our first practice from 3-4PM at the West St. Paul Dome. The season runs through the end of the school year. More information, including registration links, may be found HERE.

Class of 2025: Need Help with College Tuition?
The Eagan Community Foundation scholarship application process IS NOW OPEN and will close the evening of February 25th at 11:59 PM. Every student is encouraged to submit an application!
We expect to have about 110 scholarships totaling over $130,000. Students can watch this brief video about the application process or head here to learn more and apply. Awards are based on a variety of criteria including community involvement, those with military parents, those who have persevered through hardships in life, participation in sports and school activities, academic merit and financial need.
Only scholarships that are based on financial need require a copy of the front page of your Student Aid Report (SAR) from the FAFSA. This can either be submitted in the application portal or emailed separately anytime by April 1, 2025.
Applications will be accepted until 11:59 PM on February 25, 2025. Visit www.eaganfoundation.org for details.
EHS Student ID Required for Free Admission to EHS Athletic Events!
Reminder: EHS Students MUST have their student ID to enter EHS athletic events otherwise they will be charged admission.
We will also have a QR Code available at the entrance, but advance purchase is strongly recommended to avoid any connectivity issues. Please be aware that there will be NO CASH SALES at the door. Tickets for all events will go on sale HERE at least 48 hours in advance of each event and are $7 for adults and $5 for K-12 students (plus applicable fees). Senior Citizens ages 62+ are admitted FREE OF CHARGE (and no ticket necessary) to all District 196 Regular season Home Games. Just notify the ticket person at the gate and have your ID available if requested. Eagan High School Students will be admitted free with a hard copy, current year ID only. No electronic copies allowed. NO Re-entry is allowed regardless if students have an ID or not.

To report a student absence, please choose one of the following options:
- Complete the online form.
- Call the EHS Attendance Office at 651-683-6911 during the school day or 651-683-6915 to leave a voicemail.
- Send a note with the student to be delivered to the Attendance Office upon their return to school.
