🌷March 2025 🌷
A Note from Mrs. Cowden-Draper
Dear Orvis Risner Families,
Springtime is here, which means more consistent recess for our students! Please take a moment to check the lost and found for any coats, jackets, or items that may belong to your child.
Thank you for remembering our new school hours and getting your child to school by 9:10 everyday. Please also remember that all students must be picked up by 4:15 unless they are attending our Eagle's Nest Aftercare Program.
I want to remind you of our Title I Family Fun Night on Tuesday, March 4, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. You will have the opportunity to tour your child's classroom, receive free books from the media center, and play math and reading games in the gym. Additionally, there will be parent resources available from Conscious Discipline in the cafeteria. You won't want to miss it!
Enjoy Spring Break (March 17-21) and mark your calendars for the Book Fair happening March 24-28, along with our Donuts with Dear Ones event on March 28th from 8:15 to 8:45 AM.
Thank you for your continued support!
Wishing You Well,
Teri Cowden-Draper
Principal, Orvis Risner Elementary

Our Glow Run fundraiser is off to a great start for the 2nd year! We are almost to our 5,000 goal!! We have one more week to get there! We will have our Celebration during Specials time on March 13 and March 14. Teachers will share with their students what day their Glow Run is by the first week of March. Thank you to everyone for donating and supporting Orvis!

3rd-5th grade will be learning about bullying and perspective in the month of March. 3rd and 4th grade students will be reading and discussing the "Weird!" book series. Eagle Vision
This year your child's class will have the opportunity to lead our Eagle Vision, which is our Friday school assembly. On the day your child's class is leading Eagle Vision, parents are invited to come watch in the gym. It starts at 9:15 and ends about 9:45 and you will need to sign in at the front office, get a visitor sticker and wait in the lobby until one of our secretaries tells you to head down to the gym. You will receive an email from your child's teacher about a week before their date to present so hope you can make it!
Look at the Calendar of Events above for Eagle Vision dates and the class that will be leading!
