West Side Story 2.0

Today, we welcomed the class of 2025 and many of our new students to West High School. Thank you to our amazing Link Crew Leaders for welcoming our new Scarlets! Tomorrow, all of our Scarlets will be back in the building. Can't wait to see everyone!

Tomorrow, we welcome all of our Scarlets back. We will start in the auditorium at 8:45am with an all school assembly. Students will then follow their 7 period day.

Students being dropped off in the morning or picked up after school should use Door 12. In the back lot, the lane closest to the building is the bus lane, the middle lane is used for pick up/drop off, and the far lane is the drive through lane.

Doors #1 and #12 open at 8:15am. Please note, students will not be able to enter the building prior to 8:15 as we do not have supervision before 8:15. Also, students need to leave the building by 3:45pm unless they are here with a staff member.

During the school day, anyone coming to West will need to enter door 1 and check in at the desk. Visitor parking is located along the sidewalk by the tennis courts. Thank you for your cooperation!

Thursday, seniors will have their class meeting at 10:30am in the auditorium. We need all seniors to attend, as we will be going through Homecoming voting among other senior year items.

Friday is Subs on the Sidewalk.

Please be sure to refresh your schedule in Infinite Campus on Wednesday morning. Our counselors continue to work on balancing classes, and while your courses will not change, the order may change.

Wondering when you have lunch? You will find out on Wednesday! Please report to your 4th hour class, right after 3rd hour. Your 4th hour teacher will tell you which lunch you will have.

If you have not picked up your bus pass or student ID, you can do so in the office. Seniors wanting a parking pass need to get their pass by Thursday September 5th. Juniors can sign up for the lottery through Thursday. Names will be drawn on Friday.

High school is a much richer experience when you are involved with activities. Friday will be a great opportunity to sign up for something you are interested in. Another way to get involved is by attending different events. Follow our student section on instagram at mwhsstudentsection.

The Greater Mankato Mental Health Hub has launched! This hub was developed by Greater Mankato Area United Way's Youth Mental Health/Suicide Prevention Committee and is hosted by the Center for Rural Behavioral Health at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

The hub is meant to be a tool for parents and caregivers to easily find information on crisis support, local mental health services, parent education, and more.
