STAKEHOLDER SURVEY
Beginning on Tuesday January 17, 2023, Orange County Public Schools invites all students in grades 4-12 and all families with a student in grades K-12 to participate in the 2022-23 annual stakeholder survey. These surveys offer valuable feedback as OCPS works to ensure every student has a promising and successful future.
What topics will be covered in the surveys?
Student surveys will ask students about their thoughts on school safety, school climate, their sense of belonging and teacher-student relationships.
Family surveys will ask you about your thoughts on climate and safety, how easy it is to engage with our school and how well we meet your child’s needs and expectations.
When will my child take their survey?
The student survey window is January 17 – February 17, 2023
APS K-8 students in grades 4th thru 5th will be taking the survey between January 17th during the school day.
APS students 6th thru 8th will be taking the survey during Mental Health Lesson # 3 on Thursday 19, 2023.
Is this survey mandatory?
No, this survey is completely voluntary. Families can click on this link to the 2023 Annual Stakeholder Survey Non-Participation Form at any point during the survey window to notify schools of their decision to not participate. Surveys completed prior to completing the non-participation form will be deleted and responses will not be sent to schools.
How can I take the family survey?
The family survey window is January 17 – March 10, 2023.
Families can access the anonymous link to complete the survey at bit.ly/ocpsfamily
The family survey is available in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese, Arabic and Portuguese and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
What if I have students at different OCPS schools or multiple students at the same school?
Families are encouraged to complete one survey for each school in which they have a child attending. If you have multiple children here at APS K-8 you should think about the experiences of your older child with us as you complete the survey.
Who can I contact if I have any questions?
Please contact Helen Pratt at helen.pratt@ocps.net
Thank you for your time and feedback.

MEDIA CENTER UPDATES
Thank you to all volunteers that have been helping us comply with HB1467 and taking inventory of elementary classroom libraries! This bill has been expanded to include all secondary classrooms as well. We will be needing additional help with this process so please be on the look out for more information.
HB1467 also requires the certified media specialist on campus to complete a special training, consult professional reviews, and receive input from community stakeholders prior to ordering more materials for the media center. We have diligently selected books that have positive reviews and would make wonderful additions to our media center, many include selections picked by our APS students. To view the list of desired new materials, please visit the media center section on the APS website. Send any feedback to Erin Klemowich at erin.klemowich@ocps.net.
