Recess
Those shoes tell a big story! With the recent rain, our playgrounds have transformed into a bit of a mud-venture. We're doing our best to keep things tidy, but sometimes, even the most careful feet find their way into the mud. To help us navigate these muddy times, please consider sending your child with a pair of boots or an extra set of shoes. While we encourage students to avoid playing in the mud, sometimes those accidental slips happen, and we want to ensure everyone stays comfortable and ready to learn.
P.I.E. Updates:
The Daddy-Daughter Dance is Saturday, March 1 in the commons.
P.I.E. movie night is coming up on March 8th. We'll be showing "The Good Dinosaur" from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. It's a fantastic opportunity to relax, enjoy a movie with your kids, and connect with other families in our school community. We hope to see you there!
First graders have been busy learning! Mrs. Berarducci and Mrs. Digiansante's classes observed flower petals, while Mrs. Nelson's class practiced identifying words with the -er, -or, -ur, and r sounds.
Taking advantage of the beautiful weather, fourth graders had fun jump roping during recess.
In preschool we have been keeping the post office busy :) We asked our friends and family to send us Valentine's Day cards to put onto a map in the hallway. We were BLOWN AWAY by the amount of cards sent from all over the United States!!!
We will be keeping the map and cards up for a couple more weeks, so feel free to stop by and see where we have gotten mail from.
Mrs. Preeos kindergarten had a donut day! We celebrated learning how to add numbers together so we spent the day doing 8 addition challenges, wore donut hats and ate Krispy Kreme donuts.
My Screagle of the week is: Mabel

Middle School Highlights
February has flown by! We had some great celebrations this week starting with our I.M.P.A.C.T. awards, sponsored by The Spokane Tribe. Middle school had two students who have made an impact in our community by showing Integrity, Motivation, Purpose, Academics, Character, and Teamwork. We are proud of our students for having a positive IMPACT! Today we will recognize 68 students who achieved honor roll for First Semester, including seven students who have a 4.0 gpa for this semester. Following honor roll awards we will recognize students who demonstrated the character trait of HONESTY this month, bus riders of the week, and draw names from our Reardan Pride Card bucket. We want to ensure that students who are coming to school each day and DOING IT RIGHT are receiving recognition.
We also finished up our Family Connection games competition and are excited to announce those winning groups! Mr. Perleberg, Ms. Nurvic, Ms. Downs, Ms. Koch, and Ms. Gannon’s classrooms were the top five. More than the prizes they will receive, these groups demonstrated a huge amount of teamwork and spirit to earn their qualifying points. In March, we will focus on learning about digital citizenship with our district adopted curriculum.
PE classes this week have been alternating between cornhole and basketball with some fitness testing thrown in for good measure. Ask your student what they chose to participate in and which activity was their favorite! Mr. Bjerkestrand’s students are improving their geography skills along with their fine motor coordination with their map projects. We are finding that many students are struggling with handwriting accuracy and stamina as we move toward a more keyboard focused society. Coloring is one of the best ways to develop fine motor skills.

Senior Spotlight
Senior Spotlight: Elise Cox
Plans After High School:
Elise will be attending Eastern Washington University, majoring in Exercise Science with the goal of entering a Master’s program in Occupational Therapy.
Favorite High School Memory:
Making it to the state quarterfinals in soccer during freshman year! It was Reardan’s first real soccer season, and proving people wrong by making it that far was an unforgettable experience.
Advice for Younger Students:
"Get your work done on time and be kind to others . Being disrespectful isn’t cool, and the attention isn’t worth it. In the grand scheme of things, it’s really not that deep—kindness goes a long way!"
A Staff Member Who Made a Difference:
Shoutout to Mr. Smedley for teaching the importance of effort and responsibility, while always being someone I could talk to!
Congrats, Elise! Wishing you the best in your next chapter!
Senior Spotlight: Cohen Little
Plans After High School:
Cohen is kicking off his career by starting an elevator mechanic apprenticeship.
Favorite High School Memory:
Rolling up every Thursday in the spring with his dirt bike—because why not?
Advice for Younger Students:
"Don't take things for granted and live in the moment." Life moves fast, so enjoy the ride!
A Staff Member Who Made a Difference:
A huge thank you to JoLynn Ray for always being there to talk to me and making sure I felt appreciated and valued.
Congrats, Cohen! Wishing you success in your next adventure!
Options Program Highlights
Options Spotlight: Sarah Neumann
We're thrilled to have Sarah join the Reardan School District Options Program as a consultant (teacher) this year! Sarah started teaching in 2002 and has been in the Reardan Elementary School for almost 11 years. She joined the Options program as she wanted to be a part of the innovative things being done for the kids in this program. Fun fact about Sarah is that not many people know that she is a grandma to four amazing kids.:) Sarah's passion for learning and an advocate for all students make her a great addition to our team!
Enrichment Classes
Determination! Building balsa wood bridges and towers is a fun way for kids to learn about engineering and design! Using lightweight balsa wood, they can create different structures while exploring how they hold weight and stay strong. This hands-on activity helps develop problem-solving skills, teamwork, and creativity.
Reminder
Students in the Tree House Enrichment Class please bring empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls!
Athletic Department
Reminder - Your child must be registered in Final Forms to participate in Athletics.
