Tumuaki Korero
Kia ora e te whānau,
It was so wonderful to see our gorgeous, happy tamariki back at school on Monday and what a fantastic start to term 4!
We have quite a busy term ahead with the Marlborough Young Leaders Day, the Rugby League Festival, Year 5 & 6 camp, and also athletics. Our Kapa Haka students have been working so hard to be ready for Taiopenga on Friday 25 October, they look and sound amazing. A huge thank you to Melissa Bryant, supported by Chelsea who have worked with our tamariki to get them ready for the festival.
Regular school attendance is essential for your child's learning, social development, and overall success. Even missing just two days per term can have a significant impact on their progress, with studies showing that students who attend school more often do better academically and feel happier. Consistent attendance helps children build strong relationships, stay engaged in their learning, and develop key life skills, setting them up for a brighter future. We've found compelling evidence that regular attendance is closely linked to better outcomes both in school and beyond. If you require support with getting your child to school, please come and see me, as there are many ways we can assist you.
Just a reminder that on Friday 1 November there is a Teacher Only Day where the teachers will be undergoing Professional Development with other Marlborough Schools, working on the revised Engglish and Mathematics Curriculum.
We are excited to launch our fundraising sponsorship drive to support our kura and enhance the learning experience for our tamariki. With your help, we aim to raise funds to provide essential resources, improve our school environment, and support transportation for our students.
Information about this sponsorship drive will be coming home today, so please check your tamariki’s bags for all the details. Every contribution helps us create a more enriching and inclusive learning environment for our students.
As we head into the warmer months, a friendly reminder that we are a SunSmart school. All tamariki are required to wear hats while outside. Please ensure your child has a bucket or wide-brimmed hat with them each day – no caps, as these do not provide enough sun protection.
Have a lovely restful weekend
Me mahi tahi tātau mō te oranga o te katoa.
Working together for all to succeed, nobody is left behind.
