A Note from Mrs. Pitts
Dear RES Families,
This has been quite a week! We have had many staff illnesses and, therefore, absences but we have come together as a team and supported our students without missing a beat. We do appreciate the patience and understanding of our students and our families as we try to support our teachers in feeling better!
Also, we sent home report cards last Friday and would love any feedback you have on the format or content. If you could email me at mpitts@sau50.org, that would. Simultaneously we are collecting feedback from staff around the process now that they are completed.
THANK YOU for your support, as always!!
Warmly,
Michelle Pitts

Kindergarten Registration
Rye Elementary School is presently registering Kindergarten and Grade 1 (new students entering RES only) students for the 2025-2026 school year. Our Kindergarten program is a full day program. It is important that all students register so that we can plan classes for next year. We are already in the planning and budgeting process so please register right away.
You can register at:
https://sau50.powerschool.com/public/formbuilder/form.html?formid=2327135.
Once approved, you will receive instructions on how register for Power School and complete
forms online.
Please register early. Details are online at the RES webpage. http://res.sau50.org/
Students chronological age will be age 5 to enter kindergarten or age 6 to enter Grade 1
on or before September 30 of the year the student plans to enter school. There will be Kindergarten Orientation information announced in the spring, as well as details regarding kindergarten screening.
Quick Notes
We ask that all visitors sign in at the office and remain in the lobby when picking up students. The RES staff will take care of delivering students to family members and collecting belongings. Unexpected visitors in classrooms and hallways can be distracting for our learners and teachers. Thank you!

Lunch in Our Caf
We invite one family member at a time to have lunch with their child(ren) but this is very optional and we don't want families to feel pressured to attend. This is an occasional event as we do want children to build independence and social skills in the cafeteria, a perfect time for this!
- Email resoffice@sau50.org if you would like to attend with the date/time. It is important to anticipate who will be in the building. We love these opportunities for students and their family members but we will always put safety first.
- Adults must bring their own lunch and can bring lunch for their own child.
- We do have a focus during this time...eating for energy and brain power!
- Family members must meet the child in the cafeteria and leave from the cafeteria.
- Days for family visits are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We do not have lunch visitors on Fridays.
- Lunch times are:
Kindergarten-11:45-12:10
First Grade-12:10-12:35
Second Grade-12:10-12:35
Third Grade- 11:15-11:40
Fourth Grade-11:15-11:40
All Write: A Highlight Event!
Students in Preschool-Grade 4 participated in the "All Write" event. Each child received a pencil that said, "RES Writer at Work" and our entire community wrote together at the same time. Some students typed, others wrote and our PreK wrote a fascinating shared story that they read to Mrs. Pitts! Children were given prompts as a choice if they got stuck but MOST wrote from their hearts, from their imaginations and from the lessons they have learned from their amazing teachers! It was quiet, it was productive and it was AMAZING to walk around and see all of our budding writers being creative and engaged at the same time!
