Dear Horizon Families,
It seems February passed by in the blink of an eye, and I, for one, am looking forward to sunshine and brighter days!
The month of March is a time of transitioning from the many winter activities into the anticipation of spring. As we hope for warmer weather, we want to keep our students focused on continuing to strive to do their best. I appreciate all of the effort you put in at home to ensure this carries over into their school day, as it impacts their academic standing. Thank you to all of our students, families, staff, and PATH Organization for your continuous support!

Student Attendance - Don't Forget Documentation!
Under state law, parents/guardians can excuse a student from school - with advance notice - for up to 10 days. Absences due to illness or medical appointments do not count toward the 10 days, as long as you provide documentation from the health-care provider.
Documentation can include:
- Note from the doctor's office (printed out or faxed to 920-892-5073)
- After-visit summary showing the appointment.
NOTE: Documentation is not needed if we send a student home ill.
Reminder: Parents/guardians need to come into the office to sign their children in and out when they have appointments during the school day.
Colder Weather Gear / Weather-Related Cancellation Links:
This time of the year temperatures can fluctuate from moment to moment. We want the children to stay as healthy as possible during these changes. Please help us help your child be prepared for the changing temperatures by having the appropriate clothing for school and recess (sweatshirts, jackets, hats, gloves).
*Reminder - When snow is on the ground, students who do not have boots and snow pants will be expected to stay on the blacktop area of the playground.

PARENTS AND TEACHERS FOR HORIZON (PATH)
PATH is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Parent/Teacher Organization that focuses on fundraising so that our students & staff
may go on free field trips. PATH also supplies educational items in the classrooms or for the school as a whole. 100% of the money raised by PATH goes directly back to students/staff at Horizon.
