This is confidential and free. The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 4.
FINANCIAL FITNESS FAIR - THURSDAY, OCTOBER 3
On Thursday, October 3 during Mustang Time & Block 3 the Career and College PLC group of staff will present the annual Financial Fitness Fair for Juniors. Maine Credit Union will join us from 10-Noon, and each student will choose a job from a lengthy list and then learn about the monthly purchases that adulting requires. We will be releasing students at 10:10 and they will miss Mustang Time and Block 3.
Isabelle Guillemette Representing at the BIG E!
Grade 12 student Isabelle Guillemette recently had a stellar showing at the Big E Fair in Massachusetts representing the Maine dairy team. Isabelle was the team captain for the Quiz Bowl and her Maine team placed 3rd! Isabelle was also the Assistant Coach for the Maine Grilled Cheese and Milkshake teams. Additionally, Isabelle showed her prized heifer and placed 1st in her type class and got pulled out for over all Milking Shorthorns. Finally, Isabelle placed 6th in a very competitive showmanship class. Congratulations to Isabelle and her family on these wonderful accomplishments!
Creative Use of Unused Space - Thank You Mrs. Stephenson & Students!
For the past two weeks, students from Mrs. Stephenson's study hall (and she recruited some from other study halls) helped lug thousands upon thousands of English department books from the mods and other storage locations. They organized them in the lockers in our hallway and helped me inventory the books. This was a great way to utilize unused space and earn volunteer hours. They earned a collective 32 hours of service!
Field Hockey Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness
The Massabesic Field Hockey team does an annual fundraiser leading up to our Breast Cancer Awareness game and through the month of October. RSD Graphics has created an online store where a portion of the cost of each item will be donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation for breast cancer research. RSD Graphics will also match the amount made to go to the foundation! All orders placed before September 30 will be ready by October 10th and can be picked up right at our game on October 10th at 4pm! RSD graphics will also have a few select items available on that day for purchase! Orders placed after 9/30 will be ready for late October to mid November.
The online store will be open through the month of October.

SAT TESTING INFORMATION!
Do you plan to apply to a 4-year college? Does the college you plan to apply to require the SAT? If any of your colleges' admission requirements include the SAT, now is the time to register for the test. How do you check on your college's admissions requirements? Admissions requirements can be found on each college's admissions webpage - and these requirements can slightly vary from college to college.
SAT Test Registration Information
Students register themselves for the SAT test at https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat and the cost is $68.
If the student qualifies for an SAT fee waiver, the attached form needs to be signed by the parent/guardian and returned to Ms. Deborah Curtis in the guidance office.
IMPORTANT: Students interested in taking the SAT should read the information on the SAT website.

Calling All Businesses, Industries, & Community Partners!
Massabesic High School is hosting an Annual Career Fair on October 23, 2024, from 7:30-11:30 am in the school’s gymnasium.
Our goal is to inspire the youth in our community to be Career and College ready. It is important for students to explore different career fields in a variety of interest areas or even explore options they have not yet considered. The Annual Career Fair enables students to connect with local companies and helps spread the word about your company and job openings.
We cordially invite you to be a part of this great event. If you are able to join us, you will be responsible for running a booth and discussing with students your workday and the skills and education needed to be successful in your particular career field. If you have any flyers or job postings available, this would be a great opportunity to bring them.
If you are interested in representing your business, please complete the form linked here.
Please feel free to email Marianne Stephenson if you have any questions mariannestephenson@rsu57.org.
