Harbins families,

We had an outstanding first week of school at Harbins! Our students came ready and excited for learning on Day 1! Thank you for all that you did over the summer to get them ready for this school year!

We are very excited to provide TWO opportunities this week for parents/families to join us at Harbins!

This Wednesday, August 14th we will host our first, in a monthly series, of Parent Workshops! These monthly workshops will allow parents/families to gain additional insight and resources across various areas of school and parent life! This month's workshop topic will be PBIS! PBIS represents our schoolwide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports program that sets expectations for behavior and rewards positive behavior with Tiger Tickets, Tiger of the Month celebrations, and so much more! This Wednesday's PBIS Parent Workshop will run from 5:30-6:30, we look forward to seeing you there!

The second event opportunity you have this week is Friday's LUNCH ON THE LAWN!

Lunch on the Lawn is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with your child within the context of their new class! There will be food, Kona Ice, a DJ, and meeting/greeting the parents, students, and teacher that will be supporting your child all year long! There may even be an Archie (our Tiger Mascot) sighting! The schedule and details are below!

Schedule:

10:30-11:15 3rd and 4th grade

11:45-12:30 1st and 2nd grade

1:00-1:45 5th grade

Parents/Families,

1st stop- You will check-in at the fence on the left side of the school (next to the cafeteria)! We will have 4 stations setup to check you in, have your ID out and ready!

2nd stop- Food Ticket Payment Station- All payments for food and drink will be purchased at one of two Payment Stations. You will be given a ticket to redeem for each of your food/drink selections upon payment. Card and Cash will be accepted!

Food and Drink available for purchase:

Pizza- 2 slices- $5

BBQ Sandwich and Chips- $8

Hot Dog and Chips- $5

Drinks (water and soda)- $1

Kona Ice will be available from the Kona Ice Truck

3rd stop- Join your child's class, redeem your food/drink tickets at locations around the field, have fun and dance along with the music provided by our DJ!

We strongly encourage you to bring camp chairs, tents, and blankets to use for the event!

The schedule involves our staff checking in parents for back to back events, which will make check-out difficult. If you can allow your student to remain at school after the event, that would be great!

Do you have a 4th or 5th grade student who is interested in being a part of Harbin's First Lego League Team, the Technic Tigers? If so, applications are available now! Your teacher has these available for your child.
