Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Award Nominations
Please consider nominating an educator that has made a difference in your child's life. Nominations of Wisconsin PK through 12 teachers and principals can now be submitted online at www.kohleducation.org for the 2022 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation teacher Fellowship and principal Leadership awards. The deadline for submission is Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. central time. Awards are $6,000, with an additional $6,000 grant going to the school of each selected teacher and principal. Established in 1990, the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation awards 100 Fellowships and 16 Leadership awards annually from among all applicants throughout the state.
For teachers or principals to be eligible, they must be nominated by a parent, student, other teacher, community member, or school administrator. Wisconsin teachers and principals in grades PK through 12 who plan to continue in their current capacity for at least one year are eligible. The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Fellowship rewards teachers who have demonstrated superior ability to inspire love of learning in their students, have motivated others, and have provided meritorious service both in and outside the classroom. It also recognizes and supports principals who demonstrate administrative leadership and positively influence school culture.
Free and Reduced Lunch Forms- URGENT!
Even though lunches are free at this time, the State of Wisconsin can change this edict at any time. Knowing this, please consider filling out free/reduced lunch applications NOW. If a change is made, your child will not have an interruption in their status. The number of students applying/qualifying for free/reduced lunches also allows our school to possibly qualify for other programs such as free breakfast. Additionally, students in free/reduced categories pay less in school fees AND qualify for reimbursement of fees paid at the start of the school year! Simply fill out this form, return it to the Spring Road office in a sealed envelope with "Free/Reduced Forms" written on the envelope. If you qualify, this form will allow you to be considered for Spring Road school donations such as Thanksgiving meals or Christmas giving.
This is a financially hard time for many families, so consider applying for this confidential government program.

Counseling at Spring Road
Are you interested in your child receiving mental health counseling at your school?
Us2 Behavioral Health has partnered with NJSD to provide mental health counseling at Spring Road. The Us2 therapists provide mental health counseling to children who are experiencing any number of issues including anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, grief & loss, family issues, ADHD, and trauma.
Providing therapy at school has been found to increase the time students are in class learning while also allowing caregivers to spend less time taking their child away from school to drive them to counseling appointments.
If you are interested in scheduling an appointment for mental health counseling for your child at Spring Road, please contact Mrs. Mielke (pmielke@neenah.k12.wi.us) or call Us2 Behavioral Health Care at (920) 903-1060
