We're thrilled to start the week with great news impacting our community! All the projects from the 2021 Bond are complete - more than a year ahead of schedule and within budget. The original timeline for completing the projects was October 2025. By finishing ahead of schedule, we have created an opportunity for our students to use the new facilities and campus improvements sooner, fostering an environment where they can continue thriving in academics and athletics.
On May 1, 2021, voters approved the $113,370,000 million bond. The bond was divided into two propositions, which included the construction of Double Creek Elementary School, expansion of both the middle and high schools, technology upgrades, additional safety and security cameras, and school buses. Adding turf to the baseball and softball fields, covered batting cages, and four additional tennis courts has had a tremendous impact. The elevator and an additional 995 seats we added to the stadium have been excellent for our graduation ceremonies and athletic programs. Adding bathrooms and a concession stand on the visitor's side of the stadium has made a difference.
Finally, the improvements and renovations to the 1916 Building have breathed new life into the jewel of Jarrell ISD. The building is the location of our new administration building, and it hosts our monthly board meetings and meeting space for the community.
Our dedicated team of architects, engineers, and construction companies was strategic in building and utilizing resources efficiently to save time and money. Thank you to Sledge Engineering/Region 13, Huckabee Architects, S&P, Meteor Education, and Hellas. We commend their dedication throughout the construction process.
