LCE March Newsletter
LCE: A Great Place to Be!
A Note from the Principal
Little Cypress Elementary Families,
March is one of my favorite months of the year.
The sun starts to shine, and my family starts spending more time outside. We normally at least take a day trip to the beach on Spring Break, and I dig into a new beach read. I hope you find some time to enjoy family outside time and family reading time together this month.
We have the opportunity to welcome you all to our Spring Open House on Thursday, March 7th at 6:00 p.m. It’s a come-and-go event until 7:00 p.m., so feel free to just stop in and say hello to your child’s teacher.
We also have STAAR night for our third graders on Thursday, March 14th at 5:30 p.m.
To end the month, we will welcome everyone on campus for our Spring Party Day before we head into Spring Break.
After Spring Break, April starts the final preparation for our third grade STAAR assessments and Pre-K and Kindergarten round up for next year. Please share the information for round up if you know anyone who needs it!
We have just two more six weeks together, and I hope we all finish out the year strong, despite how much summer is already calling our names. 😊
As always, please let me know if there is anything we can do to better serve your family.
At your service,
Amber Hawk
Principal

Spring Party Day Registration
EVENT REGISTRATION:
For the 2023-24 school year, Little Cypress Elementary is requiring ID checks for large school events.
Therefore, we are requesting families to pre-register for large school events.
For these events, two family members may register to attend per child.
A new registration form will be used for each event.
Please see the link below for the form.
This form is for the LCE Spring Party Day on Friday, March 22nd.
This form must be filled out by Friday, March 15th to pre-register.
If you pre-register, your Raptor ID sticker will be sent home with your child before the event.
In order for this to work, you will need to get your ID scanned in the front office before the registration deadline.
If you do not have a Raptor ID sticker on the day of the event, you will be required to go to the front office to get your ID scanned. Please expect a long line.
Please contact Principal Amber Hawk at ahawk@lcmcisd.org with any questions.

A Note from Counselor Sydney Carr
Big news! I got married over Winter Break. It's okay if your kids still call me Ms. Brittain!
Next year I will introduce myself as Mrs. Carr. 😀
Last month our focus was Kindness.
We got to talk a lot about different ways to be kind.
This month, the counseling focus will be self-esteem.
I will talk to each student about how they are unique!
As always, if your student is in need of a visit to see me, please fill out the counseling referral form linked below.
If you are interested in nominating a student for the PLUS class for next school year, please use the link below to fill out the form by Friday, March 29, 2024.
A Note from Nurse Coleman

Shirts should cover the midriff and have at least two (2) inch shoulder strap or sleeves. No muscle shirts or spaghetti straps.
