“Voting is a civic sacrament.”- Theodore Hesburgh
Tuesday, November 5 is Election Day. Please exercise your right to vote. Little Flower will dismiss at 1:00 on that day and there will be no Extended Care.
Grandparents/Special Friends Day will be Friday, November 8. That day will include a musical program, tours of the school, and an early dismissal. We will be sending more details home soon.
Our K-8 students have all been sorted into their houses. Several students, parents, and staff have asked where to purchase extra t-shirts or other house items. So, due to popular demand, we are having our first-ever House Swag Sale! Flyers/order forms are coming home today. All orders are due by Monday, September 9th by 10 am. Cash or check only. Please make the check out to Little Flower Catholic School. A digital copy of the flyer and order form is attached. All items can be purchased for any house not just the house shown on the flyer. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me (cechegaray@littleflowerparish.org).

First Eucharist and Reconciliation
Sacramental preparation for First Eucharist and Reconciliation will begin in the fall for children entering 2nd grade. If you have a child that attends Little Flower school, enrollment forms have been sent home and are due back by Wednesday, August 28.
If you have a child in 3rd grade or above who has not made their First Eucharist, please contact Lisa at 317-357-8352, ext 105 or lgibbons@littleflowerparish.org as soon as possible.
A requirement for First Eucharist is to be a baptized Catholic and a member of our parish. If your son or daughter has not been baptized in the Catholic Faith, please contact the parish center for more information.
Please see attached flyer about the OCIA program for adults who wish to join the Catholic church or just learn more about the faith.
ILEARN
The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) is piloting three checkpoints for Grades 3-8 in the 2024-2025 school year. These checkpoints are a new component of the new LEARN through-year assessment for English/Language Arts (ELA) and Math, which will be given to all students in Indiana beginning in school year 2025-2026. Your child’s school will take part in the pilot program this year. The checkpoints will take place in Fall, Winter, and Spring. Each checkpoint has 20-25 questions and will show how your child is doing in key skills and concepts from the Indiana Academic Standards. This helps guide teaching and supports your child's learning. Little Flower Walk-A-Thon
The Little Way
Each month we discuss the Little Way. We take time to discuss one trait of the Little Way and how we can apply it to our lives at LF and beyond. This month we will be discussing
GOD IS FIRST
We will watch and discuss a video about the Good Samaritan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLzdQtetedc
We will discuss and practice ways to love our neighbor.

Older students will participate in an activity next week to show kindness to one another. Ask your 5th-8th grader about the clothes pin challenge!
