Dearest Lake Forest Community,
Happy Friday! I am just off the heels of the beautiful, annual Foundation luncheon. It was another beautiful day with an even more beautiful group of people. The Foundation's keynote, Coach Q (Lake Bluff), who began by profusely proclaiming that he is not a motivational speaker--actually proved otherwise: His story, commitment to community, perseverance, and ingenuity were absolutely inspirational. He was full of anecdotes of staying humble while working hard, and I left the luncheon feeling grateful for having met Coach Q. I also left feeling so grateful for living and serving in this community--where on a beautiful Friday, people gather in support of our great high school. We are lucky, indeed.
On a final note, I have received many emails with comments and questions. I have appreciated the honesty and candor; however, due to the volume, I cannot possibly respond to everyone. Please know that I personally read and reflect on the feedback and messages that are provided to me, that the "hard work and staying humble," inspiring me today did so, not only because of Coach Q's tremendous story, but because I am humbled daily many times over, and I know this community deserves nothing less than my absolute best--my hard work--and my ability to reflect and grow.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
Erin

We invite all students, families, and alumni to join the fun by walking in the parade with your principal. School spirit wear is encouraged!
Physics Cardboard Boat Regatta
The Physics Cardboard Boat Regatta returned this year with a full audience. All non-AP physics classes participated, and students from other classes watched from the pool balcony as their peers showed off their engineering and piloting skills at the conclusion of this 3-month project. The fastest time this year was in Mr. Wilen's 5th period Physics class. The pilot was Nick Wehmeyer and the rest of the group was Franca Stohlgren, Ellery Newman, and Brady Gamrath, and their race time was 34.85 seconds! This annual event is a Lake Forest tradition that spans many decades, and the physics teachers are always happy to make this contribution to our school community. Thanks to everyone who both participated and worked so diligently behind the scenes to make it happen. See you at next year's Regatta!
