Please notify your school nurse if your student has been diagnosed by a Health Care Provider of the following Upper Respiratory Illnesses:

• Covid

• Flu

• Bronchitis

• Pneumonia

• RSV

As cold and flu season nears, here are a few reminders on ways to help you stay healthy.

• WASH, WASH, WASH YOUR HANDS! This is still the best defense against illness. Encourage your children to wash their hands, especially before meals, using soap and warm water.

• Remind your children to cover their mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.

• Avoid sharing cups, water bottles, or eating utensils with others.

• Get plenty of rest! School-age children should get 9- 11 hours of sleep each night.

• Drink lots of fluids and eat a balanced diet, especially breakfast!

• Dress appropriately for cold weather. Please see that your children choose warm, comfortable clothing for school each day. Outdoor recess is planned for each day temperatures are above 32 degrees

As the holiday season approaches, we are aware of the economic challenges facing many families around the Fort Mill area. We are partnering with Forest Hills Church again to offer families in need of gift assistance an invitation to shop at their Christmas Village Toy Store. The Christmas Village Toy Store is a community outreach effort that seeks to come alongside local families in need and help them provide holiday gifts for their children. If you would like to receive information about receiving Holiday Gift Assistance, please complete the below form by Friday, November 1.

We are so excited to "BOO" our teachers this year with some special goodies, but we need your help! Please select a spot (or a few) to help us sponsor a staff member and make this happen no later than October 28. (Please note: this will be in lieu of the pies we usually do at Thanksgiving time.)

Veteran's Day Help - November 11

We need 5 volunteers to be in the school cafeteria at 7 am to decorate tables and set up breakfast. You will also greet the Veterans as the come in for breakfast at 7:45am, take pictures, clean up after breakfast and assist with the parade. Plan to stay until 9:45.

November 9 - Spirit Knight at the Charlotte Checkers Game -

We're excited for our Spirit Knight with the Charlotte Checkers on Saturday, November 9 at 4pm!. Tickets can be purchased here.

We are thrilled to announce we have incentives available for this event. Those who purchase tickets first are eligible to sign up for ONE of the incentives below, per child attending. Please reserve a spot for each child wanting to participate. These spots are FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED.

To be fair to all families, please do not reserve any incentives until your tickets are purchased. Incentives will be confirmed by KTES PTO, so please note the name the tickets were reserved under for verification. Thank you!

Incentives Available:

1) Player high-five tunnel (Limited to 20 students)

2) Watch warm-ups from the penalty box (Limited to 8 students)

3) Chuck-A-Puck Cleanup (Limited to 20 students) **MUST BRING A HELMET TO PARTICIPATE**
