Teacher Appreciation Week begins on Monday. We want to thank our PTO for thinking about the DuJardin Staff. The week begins with an ALL SCHOOL BREAKFAST with students and staff. Be sure to check the PTO section for more details and info about Teacher Appreciation Week.
Monday is also the start of our A.B.C Countdown to the end of the school year. The DuJardin Student Council put together some creative ways to enjoy each day from now until the last day of school on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
IMPORTANT UPDATES TO THE SCHOOL CALENDAR
Friday, May 17th is a NOON dismissal day for students in first - fifth grade. AM & PM kindergarten will have a normal schedule on this day.
Tuesday, June 4th will be the last day for both AM and PM kindergarten.
Wednesday, June 5th will be the last day for students in first - fifth grade. This day will also be a 1:40 pm dismissal day.
Student Placement: This form has been developed for parents to use as needed. The principal will consider the completed information prior to student placement in May. Student placement is a major responsibility for the school staff each year. Your input is appreciated and will be used along with a variety of other placement criteria. There is no requirement to complete this form. Complete this form only if you believe the information will assist with student placement. Please do not request a specific teacher by name as teaching assignments can change from year to year. Any form that contains a specific teacher by name will not be used in the placement process. The office staff will review forms and remove any forms with specific teacher requests.
Please complete this form by Friday, April 26th.

Message From Miss Stevens
March 7, 2024
Dear Families,
Child abuse curriculum lessons, otherwise known as the state mandated Erinβs Law, will once again be conducted in all K-5 classrooms to educate students on safe and unsafe touches, safe and unsafe secrets, and how to get away and tell a trusted adult. Lessons will teach children how to recognize child abuse, equip them with skills to reduce their vulnerability, and encourage them to report abuse. District 13 uses a curriculum entitled Kids In The Know that focuses on teaching the above mentioned skills. The classroom lessons will be conducted beginning the week of March 18th through May.
As a parent, I would encourage you to discuss these subjects with your child. You may preview the Kids In The Know curriculum, by age level, by going to Kids In The Know . If you would rather not have your child participate in this instruction, please put your request in writing and send it to the school office at the attention of Ms. Stevens. If you have any questions about this or any other related topic, please do not hesitate to call me at 630-671-5237.
Sincerely,
Julia Stevens, LSW
DuJardin Elementary School Social Worker
