Hello Covington Community!
Get ready for an exciting week ahead at Covington as we step into the first full week of March! With just a week to go before Spring Break, our dedicated students and teachers are putting their best foot forward to end the semester on a strong note.
Join us this Wednesday, March 6th, for our regular 'Coffee with the Principal' session at 10:00 AM, with a guest speaker from "Con Mi Madre" - "With My Mother". Later in the day, our Campus Advisory Council meeting is at 4:15 PM in the library. Our PTA General meeting is right after in the cafeteria at 5:30 PM. We invite all parents and community members to come out and join us, learn about the latest updates and events at Covington, and share any feedback or concerns you may have. Your presence and input are greatly valued - see you there!"

9th Grade Choice Sheet Visits
Our 8th graders have been working with counselors to complete their choice sheets this month. If your student needs assistance with getting their choice sheet completed, they are welcome to come by our office to get support.
7th & 8th Grade Choice Sheets!
Our current 6th & 7th graders have been completing Self-Serve to pick their classes for next year. All of the information including instructions, a helpful video, and the link to Self-Serve can be found on our Counselor BLEND page. Please reach out to the counselors if you have any questions or issues. We are excited to help students get ready for next year!
7th Grade College Visit Field Trips in April
AISD has begun a new initiative, The College Visit Program. All 7th graders will be invited to visit a college this April 24th and 25th. It will not interfere with 7th grade STAAR testing. Students will receive a permission slip and more information in their advisory class. If you would like to volunteer as a parent chaperone for either day, please contact Jessica Busceme for more details!
El Ranchito Nature Summer Camp
If your student is interested in exploring nature and making lifelong friends, check out El Ranchito! It is a low-cost local summer camp that brings adventure and nature together. Explore Austin!
We are excited to bring Explore Austin to Covington this year! This is an exciting years-long program that invites current 6th graders to join a group and begin exploring. Talk to the counselor or PSS for more information, or click here: https://exploreaustin.org/our-explorers/
Spring Garden Work Days!
We have 3 upcoming volunteer work days to get our garden prepped and ready for the whole school community to utilize. The first date is March 2nd, from 9-11 am. Bring your family, friends, and coworkers to help support the Covington School Garden!

If you would like to support the garden but aren’t able to make the upcoming work days, please consider purchasing an item from our wishlist here. These items are essential to properly prepare our garden and make sure everyone at school is welcome. Thank you for your donation!
