Bonham High School Board Report

Bonham High School students and staff have returned from Thanksgiving break with energy and determination, ready to finish the semester strong! Our students hit the ground running with their December STAAR retakes, showing great focus and effort. They have jumped back into their lessons, diving into new TEKS and preparing for the upcoming semester exams. Additionally, many of our students have shown tremendous dedication by putting in hours of practice for their academic UIL competitive teams, even during the holidays! We are proud of their commitment and excited to see their continued success as we wrap up this semester on a high note. We are truly 'Being an A in EVERYTHING we do!'"

How long have you been a student at Bonham ISD?

I have been a student in Bonham ISD my whole life.

What are you future plans for College/Career

I am planning on attending SFA in pursuit of a degree in forestry and wildlife. After obtaining my degree I look to work within this service to travel and see other areas of the world before becoming a park ranger.

What is your favorite thing about the High School campus?

I really enjoy being a part of Miss Hunnicutt's advanced culinary arts class. It is a two hour blocked class and the experience and learning along with getting to work alongside my classmates has been a very enjoyable experience. It is also cool knowing that I get to be a part of her last group!

What does it mean to you to be a Fighting Purple Warrior?

It is a community that is a lot like Family. The way the teachers connect with you to help you learn, and then make sure that you are able to achieve your goals and excel is something that you just have to experience, and be a part of to understand

How long have you been a student at Bonham ISD?

I have been a student in Bonham ISD since the 6th Grade.

What are you future plans for College/Career

I am still undecided as to where I will be attending as I look to continue playing the sport that I love, baseball. I will be pursuing a business degree in preparation to one day manage and work in business finance.

What is your favorite thing about the High School campus?

My favorite thing about our campus is that it feels like a school and not just a place where kids go to hang out. This has been strengthened by the implementation of various things like 9th hour and different grading methods that focus students on academic achievement.

Cy is active in volunteering at Boyd Baptist Church, donating his time by helping serve and cleaning the kitchen for Wednesday night meals, actively participating as a cast member in Judgement House in 2018, 2022, and 2024, and volunteering in Children's Church. He also volunteers in the community by coaching a boys' basketball team for Bonham Youth Sports. While not as extroverted as some of his classmates, Cy is friendly and respectful, always has a smile and a kind word, and is willing to lend a hand with whatever needs to be done.

What does it mean to you to be a Fighting Purple Warrior?

To me being a Bonham Purple Warrior is an interconnectedness that is a Family. It isn't just a name or a mascot, it is a place where all of our teachers are always here to help you and our athletics programs and coaches truly are a close knit group that is more than just a team!
