Colonial Park Weekly News
October 21 - October 25
Principal's Note
Dear Colonial Park Families -
It's hard to believe we have arrived at the last full week of October! Bring on the holiday season!
Last week, the Stoneham Fire Department came to Colonial Park to teach our students in grades K-4 about fire safety. Our SFD and our SPD work so closely with our schools, and we are extremely grateful for all the support we receive from our community partners!
Our kindergarten WINN groups will begin on Tuesday, October 22. Last week, our data team met to review the beginning of the year kindergarten data and create groups, each with a specific instructional focus. All students in grades K-4 participate in WINN groups, and students who are working toward benchmark in grade level skills are progress monitored every two weeks. If you have any questions about WINN, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or your child's classroom teacher.
We expect this week will be very exciting for our students, with our PTO sponsored Pumpkin Patch on Thursday and our annual Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 26, from 10 to 12. Mrs. Hahesy and I will have a decorated trunk at the Trunk or Treat on Saturday morning, and we hope to see everyone there! As a reminder, Friday, October 25 is an Early Release Day for all our students. Preschool will be dismissed at 11:40, and students in Grades K-4 will be dismissed at 12:00.
We are also looking forward to our second Goldie Gathering on Thursday morning. All staff and students are encouraged to wear CP or Spartan spirit wear, or a favorite blue shirt. This month, we are celebrating neurodiversity, as well as recognizing our students who are showing perseverance in ST Math. We love our monthly gatherings!
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Best,
Rosa Flynn
