Summit Virtual Academy
Weekly Update - Week of April 17, 2023
Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3!
Good afternoon, Blackhawks! Testing week for secondary students was this past week, and the Summit Attendance was great. Thank you so much for your cooperation in taking part in these important, required assessments.
The end of this week marks the end of third marking period. While Summit students do not get a marking period grade, it is a good check point for the semester. At this point, they should officially be 50% or more completed in all of their courses in order to be on pace for completion by the end of the school year. For senior students, keep in mind that the end date for the semester is May 18. This may affect your pacing.
Applications for Summit Virtual Academy were due March 24. All submitted applications were reviewed, and letters/notification regarding the status of your student's acceptance were put in the mail earlier this week, along with emailed electronically. If you believe you submitted an application and did not receive notice of your student's status at this time, please contact the office at 248-627-1820.
Have a great weekend, and Go Blackhawks!

Reminder of Expectations
- Expect your student to work for roughly 45-60 minutes per day, per course
- By now, you should have been reached out to by a counselor regarding your course progress. These will happen once a week. It is extremely important that you respond to communication. Please note that the student needs to respond and be in communication, not just the parent(s).
- Your main point of contact for content specific questions is your course instructor. If you need help doing so, don't hesitate to reach out to us at 248-627-1820.
