Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there! I hope you had a wonderful day filled with love and appreciation for all the things you do!
Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week was Awesome!
Thank you PTO, parents and community businesses for showing so much love to our staff. We were spoiled with food, fun, gifts and prizes! We appreciate your thoughtfulness and support.
SWE Mini Fine Arts Festival
Due to the crazy rain, the SWE second grade music performance had to be rescheduled. In addition, the Humble ISD Fine Arts Festival was canceled. We didn't want the weather to keep our SWE Stars from getting to show off their amazing talent, so we had our own Mini Fine Arts Festival last Thursday night. The second graders and 3rd-5th Grade Recorder Club performed. SWE students' artwork that was chosen to be on display at the district Fine Arts Festival was also displayed last week for students, teachers and families to enjoy.

Super Kids Day Rescheduled for Tuesday, May 21st
Super Kids Day has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 21st. Our PE coaches have fun and exciting activities planned for this special event. Please remind your child(ren) to wear tennis shoes and bring a water bottle, if possible.
While we absolutely want our students to have fun, SAFETY is the most important factor. There will be a lot of extra people on campus this day. Volunteers helping with stations will have pre-printed stickers ready at the check-in table located by the front pre-K playground. Visitors who RSVP to the event will have a NEON sticker handed to them at the guest check-in area, also located by the front Pre-K playground. Any visitor who has not RSVPād, will need to go to the front office with their drivers license to check in and receive a visitor sticker. No visitors are allowed inside the building without a staff escort.
Parents wanting to check their child out after Super Kids Day, will need to check them out in the front office. ALL students will re-enter the building with their class, not their parents. Please be patient, this is for the safety of all students.
RSVP link for guests: This is the same RSVP link from the original scheduled SKD. You do not need to fill it out again if you RSVP'd for the SKD event that was scheduled for May 3rd. RSVP link closes at noon on Monday, May 20th.
Permission Slip for Inflatable Obstacle Course (PreK-5th) & Rock Climbing Wall (3rd-5th grade)
Each student MUST have permission to participate in the inflatable course station and to climb the rock wall. Please fill out a form for each of your SWE children and indicate if they do have or do not have permission to participate in those two stations. You do not need to fill out the permission slip form again if you filled it out for the orignial May 3rd SKD event.

Humble ISD requires all volunteers to complete a volunteer application before volunteering at any school events. If you haven't completed a district background check for the 2023-2024 school year, please be sure to fill out the district background check prior to your shift. Here is the link for your convenience.
Message from our SWE Nurses
Please remember to stop by the SWE clinic before the end of the school year to collect your student's unused medication (including Epi-pens and Inhalers) and any personal items. NO medication will be sent home with students under any circumstances. All returns must be signed off by the RN and person picking up. All medication that is not collected by the last day of school (May 30th by 12:30 pm) will be discarded according to district policy.
Health and Medication forms must be completed Yearly. Forms for next year can be accepted if completed/signed after June 1st. These are district forms and are located on the district Health Services site.
Woodcreek Middle School will be hosting an immunization clinic on Saturday, May 18th 2024 at Woodcreek Middle School from 9am-1pm. The clinic will be held in the cafeteria. This will be offered through the Health Department and is available for those with Medicaid, uninsured and/or underinsured. Please bring the Immunization Flyer.
Attendance Incentive
SWE's attendance goal for our campus is to have at least 96.4% of our students attend school daily. Each day a student attends school and is present at the offical attendance time (9:55 AM), they will receive a ticket that they can turn in for an opportunity to win one of the raffle prizes. The raffle will be held on May 30th.
We understand students have to be out sometimes. Students get sick and family emergencies happen. We get it! The incentive is not to punish students. It is an incentive to motivate students to come to school when they are well.
If your child is absent from school, please report the absence by filling out the Attendance Form (also located on SWE website), emailing stephanie.cruz@humbleisd.net or calling the Absence Line at 281-641-3019 within 48 hours. Signed notes from parents/guardians or an excuse note from a medical facility are accepted in the front office. Your child can drop off the note when he or she returns to school. If your child leaves to attend a medical appointment and returns the same day with a doctor's note, it does not count as an absence.
TEA requires students to attend school 90% of the school days to meet requirements for promotion to the next grade level.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
New Elementary District Communication System: Rooms
On April 4th, Humble ISD emailed a Rooms invite to guardians of students in grades PreK through 4th grade. A Rooms Support link for parents has been added to the SWE campus website menu under the Students & Families column.
What is Rooms?
Rooms is a new parent-teacher communication platform for elementary campuses.
From work, to home, to school, mobile devices have become a key tool to navigate and communicate throughout the day. The Humble ISD mobile app allows families to stay up to date with campus and district news and events. Now, our Humble ISD mobile app makes it easier for elementary families to stay connected with teachers and class information right in the Humble ISD app!
With Rooms, parents are able to:
View each elementary student's class information, including announcements and materials.
Engage directly with teachers in two-way messaging.
Keep all communication in one convenient location ~ the Humble ISD mobile app!
