March 2025
Dear Parent/Guardian,
As we transition into March, we embrace the promise of spring and all the opportunities it brings for growth and renewal. This month, our Portrait of a Wildcat focus is Adaptability—helping students learn how to adjust to new situations, overcome challenges, and stay positive when things don’t go as planned.
Here are some ways you can support adaptability at home:
- Encourage Problem-Solving: If your child is struggling with a task, ask guiding questions like, "What else could you try?" or "Can you think of a different way to do this?"
- Emphasize a Growth Mindset: Remind them that mistakes are part of learning. Praise their effort by saying, "I love how you kept trying even when it was hard!"
- Try New Routines: Let them help plan a meal, try a new game, or switch up their bedtime story routine to show that change can be fun.
- Role-Play Situations: Practice real-life scenarios, like how to stay calm if plans change or how to react when facing a new challenge.
- Read Books About Adaptability: Stories where characters face obstacles and find creative solutions help children see adaptability in action.
We appreciate your support in helping our students grow into confident, adaptable learners. Thank you for being an essential part of their success!
February Wonderful Wildcats
Wonderful Wildcats are students who consistently demonstrate the outstanding characteristics of a Portrait of a Wildcat. These include integrity, by making honest and responsible choices; communication, by expressing their thoughts clearly and respectfully; confidence, by believing in their abilities and taking on challenges; critical thinking, by analyzing situations and solving problems effectively; and adaptability, by adjusting to new situations with a positive attitude. These students serve as role models, embodying the qualities that lead to lifelong success!

Spring Student-Led Conferences
Parents/Guardians,
We are excited to welcome you to our Ben Alexander Spring Student-Led Conferences! This is a special opportunity for your child to take the lead in sharing their learning progress, achievements, and goals with you. These conferences empower students to reflect on their growth and showcase the skills they’ve developed throughout the 2024-2025 academic school year.
Once again, our Portrait of a Wildcat focus is Adaptability for March, which ties in perfectly with student-led conferences. Your child will practice important communication skills by:
- Reflecting on their learning journey
- Discussing strengths and areas for improvement
- Setting goals for the months ahead
Teachers will be sending out conference times soon, so please keep an eye out for that information.
We look forward to seeing you at our Student-Led Conference on Wednesday, March 26th!
Thank you for your continued support in your child’s learning journey!
