Field Flash
September 13, 2024
Dear Field Parents and Guardians,
We hope you are having a great week! It's hard to believe, but parent-teacher conferences are around the corner! Sign up opens on Wednesday morning. We look forward to connecting with families in-person on one of our three evening dates. Our School Picture Day is coming up on Friday, September 20th!
A few reminders:
- Please follow the rules of the road when driving for drop off - our school is in a neighborhood and we want to be sure we are being good neighbors with our parking and driving!
- Please no dogs on school property at drop off or pick up! Thank you!
- Please be sure you call the main office as early in the day as possible if your child is not taking the bus home.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Dr. Courtney Goodman
Principal

Social-Emotional Learning at School & Home
Hello Parents and Guardians!
Each month at Field, we have a behavior focus that aligns with our social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum. In the month of September, students are “caught caring” for Respect and Responsibility by demonstrating skills for learning.
Our four skills for learning are;
listening with attention
focusing attention
using self-talk to stay on task
being assertive to ask for help when needed
This month we are also asking students to think about ways they can be respectful and responsible at home to build independence. Your child should have brought home a paper handout called the “I Can Do It-Challenge”. If you need an additional copy, click here. The purpose of this guide is to help students to identify 5 goals for home and to try to build that habit over the next two weeks.
Students should do the following:
Step 1: Select 5 skills for home that help to build an independent habit.
Step 2: Make a plan for how you will complete those 5 tasks each day.
Step 3: Mark your chart with an “x” to show the tasks you completed.
Step 4: Get a grown up to sign your chart to show that you completed your goals for the week and return your form to school (9/20 and 9/27)!
Step 5: Celebrate your success with your classmates at school!
Thank you for your partnership! We Can Do It!
Picture Day is Approaching!
Our Picture Day is on Friday, September 20th. You can order pictures through the company's prepay site through Midnight on September 20th. If you miss prepaying, parents will have a chance to order pictures with their child's Ticket Code. When placing an order after Picture Day with a Ticket Code a shipping fee will be added on and picture packages will be shipped directly to the home. Ticket Codes will be delivered with the bulk picture package order approximately three weeks post Picture Day.

Opt In to Text Messages from D64
District 64 continues to utilize many different platforms to ensure you have important information delivered to you in the most convenient way. One of those ways is through our SMS Text Messaging Service. Getting messages delivered to your mobile device is a helpful tool, and District 64 is reenergizing our efforts to bring this to you. Starting on Monday, October 31st, you might periodically receive text messages from either the District or your child’s school.
These alerts will be info about events, school closings, safety, and more. That said, our SMS Text Messaging Service will be used supplementally in our communication efforts and does not replace any school emails or calls you are receiving.
How to receive text messages:
You must opt-in to receive text messages. To do so, you will need to text “Y” or “Yes” to 67587.
If you’d like to no longer receive District 64 text messages, you have to send “Stop” to 67587.
