March News #readytofly

A Note from Mrs. Phillips
Dear Hornet Families/Friends,
As we move into March, we want to share important updates and reminders to help our students succeed academically and personally. This month, we will focus on standardized testing preparation, school attendance, and our RICHER Principle of Excellence.
Standardized Testing – Preparation Matters!
Standardized testing is an important measure of student progress and helps us ensure that all students are meeting learning goals. Here’s how you can support your child at home:
Ensure Proper Rest – A good night’s sleep helps with focus and memory retention.
Healthy Breakfast – A nutritious meal fuels the brain for optimal performance.
Encourage Practice – Review study guides and practice test-taking strategies.
Stay Positive – Encourage your child to do their best without unnecessary pressure.
Our teachers are working diligently to prepare students in the classroom, and your support at home makes a difference. Testing for grades 2-3 begin March 4!
Attendance – Be Present, But Stay Home When Sick
Regular school attendance is crucial for academic success. Every day in the classroom contributes to learning and growth. However, we also recognize that illness happens, and we want to keep everyone healthy. Please follow these guidelines:
Come to school if your child is feeling well. Every day matters!
Stay home if experiencing fever, vomiting, or other contagious symptoms.
Communicate absences with the school office. If your child must miss school, please let us know as soon as possible.
March’s RICHER Principle: Excellence
Each month, we focus on a RICHER Principle to help our students grow as individuals. This month, we are highlighting Excellence—striving to do one’s best, setting high standards, and pushing beyond limitations.
With Spring Break approaching, this is a great time to reinforce excellence. Students can demonstrate this by:
Completing assignments before break begins.
Putting forth their best effort in academics and extracurricular activities.
Making safe and respectful choices during free time.
Thank you for your continued support in making Fayette Central a place where students thrive. If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out to us.
We believe that strong communication and transparency are essential in creating a positive school environment. We encourage you to reach out with any concerns, questions, or feedback. Together, we can ensure the best possible experience for our students and families.
