Principal's Message
Thomas families,
Next Friday, October 25, will be an exciting day at Thomas Elementary!
The fun begins during the school day. Students are invited to wear an appropriate costume to school (we will not be changing, so make sure they will be comfortable all day in what they’re wearing). No masks or weapons, please. Costumes are optional.
In the afternoon, each classroom will have a Harvest Party, planned and sponsored by the PTO. Thank you to all the PTO members who have helped prepare the activities for the party! Students will enjoy a snack of cookies and apples during the party (see below for allergy information). A big thank you to the McDonald’s on Tuttle for donating the apples for our party.
During the evening of October 25, PTO will hold a Trunk or Treat event at 6:00. There is so much planned! Students can “trick or treat” at trunks set up around the parking lot. There will be a food truck, a dance party, and a chance to have fun with our school community. I’ll be there with my family, too! Please note: this is not a drop-off event; it’s intended to involve the whole family. More information is included below in the PTO section of the update.
Go Tigers!

THIRD GRADE OST
On Wednesday and Thursday next week, third grade students will be taking the English Language Arts Ohio State Test, which measures students’ reading and writing abilities. Third graders will take the test in October and then again in April. The results of this test are a key factor in determining whether students are on track to meet the state’s reading proficiency standards by the end of third grade.
Third grade parents: please make sure your child is well-rested and has a good breakfast next week! If possible, avoid scheduling appointments or arriving late on Wednesday or Thursday.
FLU SHOT CLINIC
On Tuesday afternoon, Thomas will be hosting an in-school flu shot clinic for students who return this form. If you have returned the form to school, your child will be called down to receive their flu shot

Senate Bill 29 - Notification Regarding Device Monitoring
In compliance with Senate Bill 29 (SB29) and federal regulations, Dublin City Schools is providing this notice to inform families about the monitoring of school-issued devices. As a participant in the federal E-Rate program, Dublin City Schools adheres to the requirements of the Child Internet Protection Act (CIPA). This means that the district has an internet safety policy in place, which includes measures to block or filter access to inappropriate online content. Beyond compliance with CIPA, Dublin City Schools utilizes monitoring tools through our technology provider(s) for other permissible reasons as outlined under SB29 (ex: location tracking, web-browsing activity, and other student interactions with school-issued devices). These monitoring practices not only help in filtering content and alerting designated school personnel to potential threats, instances of violence, or indications of suicidal or self-harm ideation, but they also assist teachers in ensuring that students remain on task during class. These measures support the safety, learning, and productivity of our students both online and in the classroom. If you have questions about this notice, please email us at info@dublinschools.net.
Beyond the Classroom
If you’re looking for something for your student, check out the Beyond the Classroom section on the Families Quick Links page on our website. This is where you can find lots of information and opportunities that happen outside school such as Athletics, After School Activities, the Info Hub, and Global Travel. These pages were just updated with new opportunities this week.
