IVY STEM NIGHT
MARK YOUR CALENDAR-
Please mark your calendars for January 30th from 4:30-7:00 for our annual STEM Night. The purpose of the night is for our families to be involved in our STEM program and to build and create together. Please plan on attending and participating with your child. Students must have an adult to participate in stations. We have several engaging stations planned throughout the evening from making slime, the popular disassemble station, amazing community partners, and tons more. The Little Thompson Observatory- next to Berthoud High School- will be open just for Ivy families from 5:30-8:00. Be sure to stop by there, too!
One of the stations is the Star Lab- which requires reservations. If your family would like to visit the StarLab- click here for the sign up. (Please note-- All students will get the opportunity to experience the Star Lab the next day during school hours.)
See you there!

COUNSELING CORNER
January Character Strong Trait: Perseverance
This month the character trait we are learning all about is Perseverance. One way to think about Perseverance is “pushing yourself through challenges and obstacles.” We all experience challenges in our lives. We all have moments when we feel like we can’t do it or that we want to give up on a big task. It is important to develop tools that help us work through those challenges in order to grow in those moments instead of giving up.
Family Conversation Starters:
- Can you share or show what it means to have Perseverance?
- What are the 3 steps you use to follow directions?
- How might your family practice Perseverance this month?
WINTER: MORNING DROP OFF
Ivy Stockwell has 430 students! This is awesome AND can be challenging when all those students are being dropped off in a 20 minute window. By this time of year, our hope would be that students can quickly exit without families having to get out of their vehicle. We are highly encouraging the DROP and GO format. We are getting backed up, especially on really cold and snowing days- when conditions are already precarious. PLEASE try to have students' items sitting next to them in the vehicle so they can easily grab it and exit quickly so that we can keep traffic moving for the safety of all involved. Please remember to pull up as far as you can so we can keep fitting more vehicles in the drop off lanes and keep traffic moving. Thank you so much for your support!
