KERN ROBOTICS LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
Another amazing day for the talented students that represent Centennial through our Robotics competition teams. An alliance of our S and D teams were able to defeat teams from Burroughs High and McFarland in dominant fashion to earn the title of Kern Robotics League Champions. Other teams were also able to win multiple awards, including 2 additional qualifiers for the state championship.
Individual robot awards:
Team 7983D: Build Award (pm division), League Champions
Team 7983F: Robot Skills champion (am division) and Think award (am division)
Team 7983N: Innovate Award (pm division)
Team 7983S: Robot Skills Champion (pm division), Excellence Award, League Champion

ATTENTION SENIORS! GRAD NITE 2025
CHECKLIST FOR PURCHASING GRAD NITE TICKETS
Get Debt Clearance Form signed by April in Finance
Get Permission Slip signed by your parent/guardian
We will start selling tickets at 6:30am on Friday, March 7th in the Centennial Finance Office.
Bring Debt Clearance/Permission Slip and $335 (Cash, Check or Card) to the Finance Office to purchase your Grad Nite Ticket.
Tickets will be sold until 1st per, at lunch, and after school until all tickets are sold! WE ONLY HAVE 320 GRAD NITE TICKETS TO SELL!!!
Once your Grad Nite Ticket is purchased, you will tell us which BUS you would like to be on (talk with friends before to determine which bus you will be on. Once signed up, there will be NO changes)
We will continue to sell Grad Nite tickets until we have sold all 320 tickets or the March 21st Disney deadline!
CAREER CENTER ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Seniors! The counseling department is hosting 1 more Cash 4 College event on January 21st from 5-7 PM in the library. This is a great opportunity for you and your parents to get expert assistance with your financial aid applications. We will once again be raffling CHS Swag for your parents and 2 lucky Seniors will win a ticket to formal. The flyer with the QR code to register is in the Career Center.
- Any Juniors or Seniors interested in taking the ASVAB, an aptitude test that helps determine your job eligibility in the military, will have an opportunity on January 17th beginning at 9:30am in the Library. You can find the flyer with the QR Code to register in the counseling hallway.
- Hey Hawks, we just want to remind you how important it is to check your Kern High Email for important information, events and updates. Currently, Seniors are regularly getting emails on things like available scholarships to apply for and workshops to help prepare for your journey after graduation. So, keep an eye out and ask for assistance if you are unable to access your email account.
CLIMATE AWARENESS CLUB
The Climate Awareness Club will be meeting in room 1601 during lunch on Tuesday. Those interested in the community service workshop on January 25th should attend.
KCSL MEETING
Kern County Student Leadership will meet tomorrow, January 14th, in the Parent Center at 8:30am.
