Festival Weekend
This weekend is our Parish Festival, and I hope all will have a wonderful time. The children were certainly excited to see the rides arrive today. I wish to thank all parents for your assistance in meeting you commitment for festival hours. It is a great help with the success of the weekend.
School Mass
On Sunday we have our first School Family Mass at 9am. Our 6th grade class has prepared the readings and will be completing other functions within the liturgy. We look forward to seeing many of our families at this Mass.
Health Concern and Lunches
We have noticed that children have been sharing food and drinking from the same bottles. As you know this can be a health issue, and I would ask all parents to reinforce with their children not to be part of this habit.
As you are aware we have children with allergies and specifically with peanut allergies. I would ask families to remind their allergic children not to eat their lunch around children who have peanut butter sandwiches. As you are aware we are a peanut free school for parties and sales from the cafeteria.
Campus Improvements
We have replaced the security lights on the school building and the annex with more efficient LED lights. We certainly will notice a difference in the brightness and coverage of such lights, and they will use less power.
Pumpkin Patch Field Trip
Once again we will be joining Spruce School on the Pumpkin Patch Field Trip on October 22nd. Permission slips went home yesterday. If parents wish to attend compliance must have been met with fingerprinting and completing the Virtus training. If you have any concerns please email Mrs. Cierra at info@ssfallsoulsschool.org
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be occurring from November 7th to 9th. The sign up form will be available on SchoolSpeak from Wednesday, October 17th from 12:00 to Wednesday, October 24th at noon. Please follow the directions on the form.
8th Grade News
Recently our 8th graders attended an overnight retreat at La Honda. This was the first time we had organized such an experience for the students. It was a very successful experience for the students. Thanks to Mr. Ceja and th 8th grade parents who assisted with this experience.
The Confirmation for the students will be celebrated on Saturday, October 13th at 10am.
Holiday
On Monday, October 8th there is no school, as we will be celebrating Columbus Day.
New Program for Students
We will be introducing students to a new positive reinforcement program where by students will be able to give positive notes to other students through the Give Thanks app. The staff have been trained in this program and are very positive and excited about it for our students.
