Superintendent's Message
Dear JUHSD Community,
As summer vacation draws to a close and we prepare for our return to school, I want to welcome you back! I hope you've had wonderful break with some sun, fun, friends, and family and that you are ready for the year ahead. During the summer break, staff have been hard at work upgrading facilities, participating in professional development, and providing summer learning for students. Importantly, we too, have had some rest and rejuvenation!
I have reflected this summer on where we have been and where we are going. I am very proud of our district and I am energized for the important work that lies ahead. We remain committed to providing a safe, equitable, and supportive environment for all students and staff. We embrace inclusion, value diversity, and address systemic inequities in order to provide access, opportunity and belonging for all. Every individual in our academic community has a vital role to play in furthering this mission, and I encourage your active participation.
We are eagerly looking forward to welcoming you back on the first day of school, Wednesday, August 7, at 8:30 am. Have a fantastic end to the summer and I look forward to seeing you very soon for an amazing new school year!

Oceana and Westmoor in the News
Our very own Oceana High School teacher Ryan Reidy and two amazing Westmoor High School students are making headlines! Thanks to their incredible efforts, rain barrels have been installed in Oceana High School’s lovely community garden. The story on KPIX highlights the fantastic work being done through San Mateo County’s Youth Climate Ambassadors Leadership Program.

Westmoor FBLA
Westmoor FBLA took on the national stage in Orlando, Florida, competing in Business & Finance and Information Technology events! Our students showcased their hard work and dedication, we are proud to announce that Westmoor placed in two events and had a top 15 finalist. Congratulations to Daniel Aguilar, Ryan Chou, and Gordon Zhang!

July 6th Board Meeting Highlights
- All Boards Members and Superintendent Toni Presta reported how excited they were to be conducting the Board Meeting in our new home at 123 Edgemont Drive, Daly City and are looking forward to staff and students returning in August
- Jefferson High School welcomed new Vice Principal, William Brown. He is excited to join JUHSD and the Jefferson High School Community
- Summit Shasta delivered their annual report to the Board
- Board Members approve to sign onto a letter of support for Coalition Letter Advocating for Educational Equity in Civics Conferences
- Revised Ethnic Studies Course proposal was open for questions
