PRINCIPAL'S WEEKLY MESSAGE
Happy Friday Ridgeview families! Here are your final updates of the year.
We’d like to thank all our families that were able to come out to our NJHS Induction, as well as our 8th Grade Awards Ceremony. Both programs were wonderful! It is always a pleasure to celebrate our scholars. We hope that you had a wonderful time and we look forward to doing it again with a new group of 7th and 8th graders next school year.
Final grades for quarter 4 will be available in Infinite Campus sometime during the end of the week of May 26th.
If students still have library materials that need to be turned back in once school is out, those items may be dropped off at the main office to be checked back in (see office hours below). Thanks in advance.
Any student personal communication devices that are left in the building once school is out will remain in our device lock-up until a parent/guardian picks them up. Please have your ID ready to show and be advised devices may be picked up during our Summer Office Hours on days the building is open only. Summer office hours are as follows:
Mon through Fri 8:00-2:30 pm unless otherwise noted.
We/district office will be closed on the following holidays: Mon May 26th for Memorial Day; Thur June 19th for Juneteenth; Fri July 4th for Independence Day.
If a student requires a principal signature for a work permit over the summer, this may be done anytime during our summer office hours (see above) except for the following dates: June 24th-July 7th. If you have questions, please contact our building secretary Tiffany Dalton through the main office.
There have been a lot of questions from parents about the new building, moving in, etc. We still don’t have a lot of specific details but will share with families as we know more in the coming months. What we can tell you right now is the move won’t happen until sometime in the second semester of the school year. The building is coming along nicely and we’re very excited about the move. If you haven’t seen it in a while, please drive by it. It’s going to be beautiful!
Lastly, we would like to wish our 8th graders well going to high school. We know you’re going to do great things and can’t wait to see/hear about all the wonderful things you’re going to do! Know your Ridgeview staff is proud of you. Keep being TIGERS! To our 7th graders who’ll be the leaders in the building next year, you have big shoes to fill but we know you’re up for the task! Come back ready to roll and put in the work. It’s going to be a great new year - and a big new building to lead in!
From our Ridgeview family to yours, we hope everyone has a safe and restful summer break. You’ve all earned it! Take care everyone and we’ll see you again in July to kick off a new school year.
GO TIGERS!

Student Safety Reminder
Important Safety Reminder: Protecting Students from Risky TikTok Trends
Parents, please be aware of a concerning TikTok trend impacting students in some school districts. While we have no confirmed cases in PLSD, we believe it’s important to proactively address student safety.
Device Tampering: Students have attempted to short-circuit their Chromebook USB ports using small objects—this poses a serious fire risk.
Electrical Hazards: Wall outlets can also be dangerous if students insert foreign objects into them.
Consequences: Engaging in these activities can lead to suspension or expulsion and even criminal charges like vandalism or arson.
Here is a video showing what can happen.
How You Can Help: Have an age-appropriate conversation with your child about responsible technology use and the dangers of unsafe online trends.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping students safe!

HELP Make Our Schools Safer
The Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Public Safety have launched the SaferOH tip line that will accept both calls and texts 24 hours a day.
This tip line allows students and adults to anonymously share information with school officials and law enforcement about threats to student safety—whether that involves a threatened mass incident or harm to a single student.
Every tip can remain anonymous. School safety analysts may ask for additional information, but the caller can remain secret or leave his or her contact information for later follow-up.
Calls or texts to 844-SaferOH (844-723-3764) are answered by analysts in the Ohio Homeland Security’s Threat Assessment and Prevention (TAP) Unit. When action is needed, the TAP Unit immediately forwards information to Pickerington Schools, local law enforcement agencies, and others, if necessary.
