New Playground at South Grafton Elementary School
On Thursday, October 12, the new playground at SGES was opened and is named in honor of Doreen Parker, longtime principal at SGES. Thank you to the Community Preservation Committee and the Grafton Disability Commission for their tremendous support. Their advocacy for the project truly made this playground a reality.

Capital Projects
We had a very busy summer with the installation of the new playground and a host of other projects across the district.
New HVAC System
The largest project was the replacement of the original HVAC system at Grafton Middle School. The new HVAC system was funded through ARPA (American Rescue Plan) and an energy savings grant. This project replaces a failing heating system with a state-of-the-art heating and cooling system at GMS.
Roof Replacement
Through the use of capital funds, we were able to replace two failing roofs. The original gymnasium roof at North Grafton Elementary School and the library roof at Millbury Street Elementary School were replaced.

ADA Compliance Projects
Funding provided through ARPA and capital allowed us to renovate a number of bathrooms to make them ADA-compliant. The focus of the bathroom renovations to date has been at the middle school.
