Dear Emery Eagles Families,

Happy Holidays! The end of 2024 is quickly approaching, We want to thank everyone who came out to the 2nd Grade Music Performance! It was amazing! The cafeteria was filled with families and the students did a wonderful job singing the night away! It was a night to remember!

Now in December, we have a lot of exciting events for the month of December at Emery so please read the entire newsletter. Progress reports were posted on Friday, November 22nd, so please check your Home Access Center and let your teacher know if you have any questions. We are thrilled at how much the students are learning and growing every month.

First this week, class pictures and retakes will be taken on Wednesday, December 4th. Then next week, our Annual Unwrap Reading Night and Book Fair Night for the entire school will be on December 10, 2024 from 6-7:30 PM! Please stop by even if you only have a couple of minutes. Your children will love it. We want to provide good reading activities for the students and help them make the connection that reading is a gift we give ourselves. You don’t want to miss it!! There will be a special guest your child will want to see too! Then our Annual Spelling Bee will be held on December 13th. We wish everyone good luck.

Holiday Parties will be on December 20th which is our last day of school before our Holiday Break. Students do not need to bring gifts, food, or other items for the party because our PTO provides all necessary items. . If you do not wish for your child to participate in our holiday celebration, please send a written note to inform your child’s teacher by December 18th. Also, we will not have visitors for the party like last year. The party will be for the students only and the teachers have planned fun activities all throughout the day so the students will have a fun-filled day!

Winter break begins on December 23rd and ends on January 6, 2025. We look forward to seeing our Emery Eagles back on January 7, 2025!

During this special season take time to enjoy your family and friends. The gift of time is the most memorable gift you can give your children. Thank you for sharing your precious children with the staff at Emery every day. We are looking forward to a fabulous Spring Semester when we return from the holiday break. Estimadas Familias de Emery,

Felices fiestas! El final del año 2024 se acerca rápido. Queremos agradecer a todos los que vinieron a apoyar a los alumnos de 2do grado en su presentación musical! Estuvo increible! La cafetería se llenó con las familias y los alumnos hicieron un trabajo increible cantando toda la noche! Fue una noche digna de recordar!

Ahora en diciembre, tenemos muchos eventos divertidos por venir en Emery así que por favor de leer todo el boletin. Las calificaciones del progreso de alumnos salieron el viernes, 22 de noviembre, asi que por favor revise su HAC (Centro de Acceso en Casa) y déjele saber a la maestra si tiene preguntas. Estamos muy contentos de todo lo que los alumnos están creciendo y aprendiendo.

Primeramente esta semana, las fotos en grupo y retomas serán el miércoles, 4 de diciembre. Luego la proxima semana, el evento anual Unwrap Reading Night y la noche de venta de libros será el 10 de diciembre del 2024 de 6-7:30 PM! Anímese a venir aunque sea unos minutos. A los niños les encantará. Queremos proveer buenas actividades de lectura para los alumnos y ayudarles a hacer la conexión que la lectura es un regalo que nos damos a nosotros mismos. No te lo puedes perder!! Tendremos un invitado especial que los niños querrán ver! Luego el Spelling Bee anual será el 13 de diciembre. Les deseamos buena suerte a todos.

Las fiestas navideñas serán el 20 de diciembre que también es el ultimo dia de clases antes de las vacaciones de invierno. Los alumnos no necesitan traer regalos, comida, o otros artículos para la fiesta porque nuestro PTO proveerá todo lo necesario. Si no le gustaría que su hijo participe en la celebración, por favor mande una nota escrita a la maestra de su hijo para el 18 de diciembre. Al igual que el año pasado, no estaremos recibiendo visitas para las fiestas. La fiesta será solo para los alumnos y las maestras tienen planeado actividades para que los alumnos se diviertan todo el dia!

Las vacaciones de invierno empiezan el 23 de diciembre y terminan el 6 de enero de 2025. Esperamos a todas nuestras Águilas de Emery de regreso el 7 de enero de 2025!

Durante esta temporada especial tómese un tiempo para disfrutar a su familia y amigos. El regalo del tiempo es el regalo más memorable que le puede dar a sus hijos. Gracias por compartir a sus hijos preciosos con el personal de Emery todos los días. Esperamos tener un semestre de primavera fabuloso cuando regresemos de las vacaciones de invierno. Les deseamos unas vacaciones seguras y relajantes.

Parent/Family Visitor Lunch Expectations

• Please stay seated with your child at the designated family tables during your lunch visit (near the windows and/or stage depending on the grade level).
• You are only allowed to eat lunch with your child (not any of their friends)
• You are only allowed to feed your child (not any of their friends)
• When Silent 5 begins at the end of the lunch period, please say goodbye and send your student back to their class table so they can be dismissed with their class.

Expectativas Para los Padres/Familia Para la Hora Del Almuerzo

SOLO tenemos visita de almuerzo los lunes y viernes

• Por favor de sentarse en las mesas designadas para la visita (cerca de las ventanas o escenario dependiendo del grado escolar)
• Solo se le permite almorzar con su hijo (no con alguno de sus amigos).
• Solo se le permite alimentar a su hijo (no a alguno de sus amigos).
• Cuando empiece el silencio de 5 minutos es porque su almuerzo terminó. Puede despedirse de su hijo y necesita regresar a la mesa asignada de su salón y así poder regresar juntos con su clase.

A parent/guardian MUST bring and sign in ANY medication into the clinic. This includes creams, cough drops, inhalers, and other medications. Students may NOT bring it to school in their backpack.

Prescriptions must be within date and have the student’s full name.

If it is an over-the-counter medication such as cough drops, Benadryl, Tylenol, it MUST be a brand new, UNOPENED bottle/bag.

El padre o tutor legal DEBE traer y firmar por CUALQUIER medicamento que quiera en la enfermería. Esto incluye cremas, pastillas para la tos, inhaladores, y otros medicamentos. Los estudiantes NO DEBEN traer medicamento en la mochila.

La receta debe tener la fecha vigente y con el nombre completo del estudiante.

Si es un medicamento de venta libre tal como pastillas para la tos, Benadryl, o Tylenol, DEBE ser en un frasco nuevo, y sin abrir.

Happy December from the library!!! We are gearing up for our Scholastic Book Fair! A letter was sent home 11/8 that gave dates and times for our book fair.

This link gives everyone directions on how to set up your student’s eWallet and gives you access to a digital book fair flyer so you and your student(s) can start deciding what awesome books that they want to purchase!

Book fair dates are December 6-12, and all students will visit with their ELAR teachers. Pre-K, Kinder, 1st, and LS students will visit on Friday, 12/6. 4th and 5th grade students will visit on Monday, 12/9. 2nd and 3rd grade students will visit on Tuesday, 12/10. Teachers have the scheduled times for the visits.

Parents will not be allowed to visit the book fair during the instructional day but are encouraged to come on Tuesday, 12/10 for our “Unwrap Reading Night”. The book fair will be open until 7:00 pm for that event.

Book fair flyers were sent home with all students on Friday, 11/22 before Thanksgiving break.

¡Feliz diciembre desde la biblioteca!! ¡Nos estamos preparando para nuestra Feria del Libro Escolar! Se envió una carta a casa el 11/8 que daba fechas y horas para nuestra feria del libro.

Este enlace brinda a todos instrucciones sobre cómo configurar la billetera electrónica de su estudiante y le brinda acceso a un folleto de la feria del libro digital para que usted y sus estudiantes puedan comenzar a decidir qué libros increíbles quieren comprar.

Las fechas de la feria del libro son del 6 al 12 de diciembre, y todos los estudiantes visitarán con sus maestros de ELAR. Los estudiantes de Pre-Kínder, Kinder, 1st y LS visitarán el viernes 12/6. Los estudiantes de 4º y 5º grado visitarán el lunes 12/9. Los estudiantes de 2º y 3º grado visitarán el martes 12/10. Los profesores tienen los horarios programados para las visitas.

A los padres no se les permitirá visitar la feria del libro durante el día de instrucción, pero se les anima a venir el martes 12/10 para nuestra "Noche de lectura Unwrap". La feria del libro estará abierta hasta las 7PM para este evento.

Los folletos de la feria del libro se enviaron a casa con todos los estudiantes el viernes 11/22 antes de las vacaciones de Acción de Gracias. ¡Gracias por apoyar nuestra Feria del Libro de Emery y la biblioteca!
