Mrs. Geurin’s Classes

Math

Seventh grade will complete module 2 on drawing and analyzing two-dimensional figures and then move into transformations and similarity. In this module they will investigate reductions and enlargements, explore dilations, and understand and recognize similar figures. They will then begin work on solving linear equations concentrating on two-step equations and solving multi-step linear equations, as well as applying linear equations.

Science

7th grade is concluding their topic on energy flow in ecosystems and then moving into their new topic on Cycles of Matter. They will then review their ecosystem's topic of ecology. They will then begin their new topic of Populations, Communities, and Ecosystems. They will work to understand interactions in ecosystems, dynamic and resilient ecosystems, biodiversity, and ecosystem services.

Mrs. Bradley’s Class

Language Arts

Seventh grade is answering the essential question: How do our actions define us? We are working with the genres of myths, short stories, legends and poems. We will be writing our own pieces from the genres of our choice.

Social Studies

We will explain how the Declaration of Independence and early state constitutions reflect Americans’ beliefs about government and the rights of citizens. We will also evaluate the U.S. political system under the Articles of Confederation, and describe the drafting and ratification process of the U.S. Constitution.
