iJOBS and Novus I-Corps Program
Join us on-campus for an introductory half-day training/workshop/networking event for university-based researchers & innovators at Rutgers, NJIT, Stevens, Rowan and Princeton to help scientists and researchers shift the mindset from the technology to the people who would benefit. Innovation-minded teams & individuals are welcome to attend including faculty, graduate students, post-docs, research staff, and undergrad students. Networking Lunch will be provided where you can meet with key leaders to get your questions answered about Intellectual Property, innovation & entrepreneurship, and possibly identify new team members to participate in an upcoming I-Corps regional program. Come learn about various ways to get started with innovation! Register by May 29. See attached flyer.

Making your LinkedIn profile highly visible and building your brand is essential for expanding your network and helping you get hired. However, most of us struggle with what and when to post and how to increase our contacts on LinkedIn. Penny Pearl of 2Actify is an expert at helping scientists articulate their unique value and create a brand that we can use for marketing ourselves as researchers who have transferable skills. Attend this workshop to learn best practices in posting and connecting with others to improve your chances of getting noticed by those who matter!

National Trails Day at the Rutgers Ecological Preserve
Join the Rutgers Ecological Preserve for an interpretive walk in the woods on National Trails Day! This is an opportunity to enjoy nature with an optional trash clean-up component. Summer Crew interns will give talks about natural resources, wildlife, and plants you might find in the woods.
We will meet at the Ecological Preserve Trailhead at 11:00am. Staff of the Ecological Preserve will lead an interpretive hike for approximately 2 hours. Optional trash collection while we hike and a big clean-up at the end of the hike in the parking lot.

Rutgers Innovation Awards 2024 - Nominations and Applications Open!
The Office for Research is proud to announce the inaugural Rutgers Innovation Awards, to be hosted in September. They are now accepting applications and nominations for this recognition. The deadline to apply is June 15, 2024.
The event will recognize outstanding achievements by Rutgers researchers who have demonstrated excellence by developing a breakthrough idea, process, or technology that has shown its transformational potential to improve lives and create economic value. Nominate your research faculty, research staff, postdocs, clinical fellows or students (graduate and undergraduate). Applicants can apply online for one or more of the 10 categories. There is no requirement to have any patent application filed or issued. Nominators can use the nomination portal to submit their nominations and can also self-nominate and apply. Nominees will receive an email with a link to the application portal to submit their information. Application guidelines can be read on the event webpage. The application will be reviewed and scored by a subcommittee that includes industry executives, business leaders, and other external subject matter experts, and the recipients will be announced in August. The winners will receive their awards at the event in September. This is an invite-only event.

Biomedical PostDoc Professional Development and Presentation Days (PD3)
Join these monthly in-person meetings which will include:
- an opportunity to practice presenting your research to your fellow postdocs
- a brief professional development component related to preparing for faculty positions including application tips, establishing a lab & teaching
- social engagement with your peers and FREE food
These meetings will be in-person only to foster community. Everyone is encouraged to attend at both locations. Faculty and students also invited. No registration required.
