Pinning Extensions and Bookmarks
Tech Tip Tuesday (August 22, 2022)

"But they were there last year!"
Yes, those extensions and bookmarks are still exist.
At the end of May, Google Chrome had an update to require profiles inside managed organizations (aka school districts).
If you weren't working in one before, your default profile is your personal profile now. You should see a little profile picture at the top right of your browser by the address bar (Omnibox).
HOWEVER, your old extensions and bookmarks weren't deleted.
Here's how you find them or easily add them again.
➡️But why are they 'gone'?⬅️
Check your Chrome profiles!
You can find your old look of your Chrome browser by checking your profiles up on the top right of your browser.
Click there and find Person 1. That's what your old profile is at with all of your old bookmarks and extensions.
Let's find the old stuff. Check out more!
🧩Extensions🧩
Add your old extensions back!
You can add approved extensions in the Chrome Web Store that can help you with instruction. Some popular extensions like Screencastify and Kami!
You might have had them preloaded before, and you can re-add them easily.
Make sure you pin them so they always stay on your toolbar!
Check out a short tutorial here!
🔖Import Bookmarks🔖
Save them and add them back!
Your bookmarks didn't go away either!
You can export them from your old profile to your new profile.
Go to your old profile and export them from Bookmark Manager.
Download the HTML file and import them into your new profile!
