Fun Run Now Open
Immaculate Conception families, the day is here! Have you signed up your student for our Fun Run fundraiser? You don’t want to miss out, because our event is going to be epic thanks to our hard working parent committee and the support of our teachers! Our theme is Castle Quest and we'll have character building lessons that go along with the theme. They are a perfect reinforcement of our mission, word of the year "Courage," and the Leader in Me habits.
Our goal is to raise $35,000 for more classroom updates and educational field trips. We greatly surpassed that last year and hope to do so again! We need to spruce up our desks, tables, cabinetry, shelving, counters, sinks and more to go along with the new windows, blinds, and bathrooms already installed with Fun Run profit. Let's go IC!
Signing up is easy and free, and you are invited to start sharing information on the Fun Run with your family and friends at any time. Our official kick off is Tuesday, Sept 23. Put Oct. 4, 1 PM, on your calendar to join us at the DB football field for the Fun Run!

Check out our IC Fun Run Facebook page and watch for teacher emails. We will have exciting challenges along the way and we'll be sure to share our fun and progress.
Jr Dons Youth Basketball Clinics
Hello parents of 3rd-8th grade girls. Our upcoming season for Jr Dons basketball begins soon. We start with four free clinics (see attached flyer.) This is a great opportunity to see if your daughter is interested in basketball. We encourage all girls to try it, and from there you have the opportunity to sign up for the season, which includes two weekly practices, a few scrimmages between November-December, and a fun beginner's league in January (grades 3-6.) Girls in 7th/8th grade will participate in our Junior High program with Coach Laken Brown.
We are still looking for one coach (or more) to coach the 3rd/4th grade team. The great news is that we coaches for the 5th/6th grade team will practice with you, have all the practices planned, and will organize all the scrimmages. We just need a coach to be able to be with the 3/4 team while we coach our daughters on the 5/6 team. Please let us know if you or someone else is interested in this fun volunteer gig!
Please reach out with any questions.

Steubenville Youth Conference: Each summer, the University of Steubenville hosts Catholic Youth Conferences across the US. There are conference locations in Minnesota and Illinois. If you would like more information, please fill out the interest form by October 31. Once I have a list of interested students, I will plan a parent/student information meeting.
Below is a promotional video to give you an idea of what the conference will be like.

Need Winter Gear?
Koats 4 Kids has been providing new coats, boots, snow pants, hats and gloves to kids in need for years. They have reached out to us to see if we have any kids that might be in need of some warm winter gear this year. Please email icsecretary@boscocatholic.org with items needed and sizes. All information will be kept confidential. Distribution will start in October.
Harvestfest Sign Up

Volunteer sign-up sheets will be in the Heritage Room on Sept. 21/22, Sept 28/29 and Oct. 5/6. Please be generous with your time. If you are unable to sign up in the Heritage Room please call or email Carol Berry to sign up. 319-296-1089 cberry@boscocatholic.org
Field Trips
On September 27th, our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will be going to the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium in Dubuque. They can wear a spirit shirt with jeans, uniform pants, or uniform shorts. No sweatpants or Bosco hoodies may be worn. Please make sure they wear tennis shoes as there will be quite a bit of walking!
These field trips are made possible through generous donations to the Fun Run!
