A Message To Families From Mr. Peck
Riverview Families,
We have had some events recently that brought our school community together to celebrate and honor the learning and achievements of our students. These events include the learner showcase, Grand Day, CARES Student of the Month celebrations, band concerts, and more. Every time we open our doors to our families, I am overwhelmed by the significant support we receive from our Riverview families. Thank you for being so present and involved in your child's education. I really think it matters that our students feel a strong family connection with the school and it is obvious that may of you feel the same way. We appreciate you and look forward to many future events that we will get to spend time together at.
As the days tick down until summer vacation we remain focused on learning and helping our students grow. There are still opportunities every day to help our students become better readers, mathematicians, scientists, artists, engineers, musicians, historians, and improve their skills in so many ways. Please keep encouraging them to try their hardest each day and to do the things they need to be successful: be on time, listen to and respect their teachers, focus on the task at hand, be kind to others, show responsibility and act with self-control. We appreciate all the support!
Shawn Peck
Principal

iPads Will Stop Coming Home on This Thursday Unless Loan Agreement is In Place
Any student without the 24-25 ipad protection (insurance) plan and user agreement in place will be required to leave their iPads at school starting this Thursday, May 23. Any families wishing to have their child continue to bring their school issued iPad home should read the information below and complete all necessary steps to competing the loan agreement and protection plan.
24-25 iPad Loan Agreement Is Now Open; Summer iPad Check Out Available
Enrollment in the iPad Protection Plan, including coverage for the upcoming summer months and school year 2024-25, is now open. Imagine not having to stand in line to pick your student’s iPad up in the fall! Even if you just put the iPad on a shelf for the summer, it’s worth enrollment now simply to save you time.
- RVES is not sending iPads home this summer with kindergarten students since they were not sent home throughout the school year. They will receive them back next fall. However, parents can still fill out the forms now to save time later.
- Check out window is open now through Thursday, May 23 2024. If students do not have their 24-25 protection plan completed by this date, their school-issued iPad must stay at school during the summer months.
- The enrollment fee for the optional iPad Protection Plan is $35 for the 2024-25 school year, with no additional fee for the summer months.
- If you have not used RevTrak yet, you will need to create an account and also know your child’s Student ID number to complete the registration process. If you used RevTrak for completing last year’s 2023-24 iPad Loan Agreement, the system has saved your parent and child account information. You will still need to know your learner’s Student ID number.

School Board Approves Calendar Changes For School Year 2024-25
In 2023 the Minnesota legislature passed the READ ACT which requires additional professional development specific to literacy instruction. In response to the time needed, the district has added three more professional development days to the 2024-25 school calendar at the elementary level only. These added professional development days will not impact the secondary level (middle and high school). You can find the updated 2024-2025 Year-at-a-Glance calendar on the district website here. Or zoom in on the image below.
Your Help Is Requested To Keep Gum, Candy, and Toys at Home
