- Check out a Caribbean cookbook from your local library and cook a meal with your family
- Expand your knowledge of Caribbean history, culture, and society through books, documentaries, podcasts, etc
- Listen to Caribbean music
- Visit a museum or exhibit dedicated to Caribean art or history
What does LGBTQIA+ mean?
G - Gay
B - Bisexual/Bigender
T - Transgender
Q - Queer/Questioning
I - Intersex
A - Asexual/Aromantic/Agender
+ - and the many other terms LGBT+ people use to describe their experiences & identities!

Why is LGBT Pride Month in June?
Several other important June dates in LGBT+ History are:
- June 25, 1978: Gilbert Baker flies the Rainbow Flag for the first time at the Gay Freedom Parade in San Fransico
- June 26, 2015: Same-sex couples win the right to get married and have their marriages recognized in every U.S. state in the Obergefell v. Hodges supreme court case.
Ways to Celebrate LGBTQIA+ Pride Month
- Attend a Pride event in your area
- Check out books about LGBT+ identities or history from your local library
- Check your local library for events about LGBT+ identities or history
- Request an LGBT+-themed book you would love to read from your local library
- Donate or volunteer with an organization that supports LGBT+ people
- Expand your knowledge of LGBT+ topics with blogs, websites, documentaries, books, etc
Disability Pride Philly
Join Philadelphia's Disabled Community at Disability Pride Philly! This week-long celebration includes parties, entertainment, information sessions & workshops, and a parade that all put a spotlight on the accomplishments and needs of disabled people in our community, from the voices of the disabled community.
The week will end with a parade on June 10, starting at 11am at City Hall's North Apron, and ending at a festival from 11 am - 4 pm on the 1600 Block of the Ben Franklin Parkway.
